Verizon Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

Order Status

Here is the status of your Pre-order:


We received your order and it is in process.
Expected Ship Date: 07/09/2012


Pre-ordered on 6/11. Didn't bill my card yet.
 
I pre-ordered on the 13th, but just realized (to my utter horror) that the card I gave them was since flagged for fraud, and has been re-issued. Verizon said I need to wait for the order to fail, at which time I can call in and adjust the card. There is no way to do it at this time, as the order is "closed" until it ships.

Can anyone with a July 10th "Ship-By" date let me know if your order gets charged, since there's no way for me to know if the order has failed.

I just got an email from Verizon stating my order is on hold for the S3, which is kind of disconcerting. Also, it looks like they credited the cost of the phone, then charged it?

I had a billing address issue when I pre-ordered on the 6/6 at about 7:20. I'm on a family plan with my parents and brother who live in another state where the account is based. We billed the pre-order to my wife's debit/credit. I contacted Verizon support on the 6th when I got home from work, and they told me it shouldn't be an issue.

Kinda worried now that the order may be canceled and I'll not only not be able to get the phone as soon as expected, but also have my unlimited data wiped out.

BTW: long time lurker, first time poster.
 
mine is showing ship by 7/11/12....im getting the funny feeling people are going to be walking right into the store on the 10th a leaving with a new S3 and I'm not going to end up getting mine until the 15th or so.. meh, as long as i can keep my unlimited data at least right

Oh don't say that... now I'm worried!

I preordered the 16th, on a family plan as well. Brother's address is the billing address, but when I put in the CC info, it was all mine at my address.

Ughhhh that would blow baboon bollocks if they cancelled it and couldn't offer it subsidized retaining unlimited :(
 
Those that have been charged for the phones already, did you do the upgrade or pay the full cost? (I had to pay the full retail to get it... upgrade wasn't till December! :( )

Bride just told me our card was charged this afternoon for the 7:00 a.m. first-day pre-order (upgrade, 32GB blue) with an original shipping date of July 9, 2012.
 
In the infamous words of Scooby: "Ruh roh." Just realized that I ordered my 2 SGS3's using my debit card which expired last month. When I went into order status it gives me the option to change payment. Tried doing so and it gave me some error about system being too busy to update.

Worried now that they may cancel my 2 pre-ordered phones AND my unlimited data goes bye-bye. Looks like a call to a CSR is in order..."ruh roh again."
 
Possibly a stupid question, but you guys who say your cc has been charged, how do you know that? Wouldn't it take at least a day to process before it shows up in your online transactions (which is where I assume you're getting the info). I must have a really lame, really slow credit card company because I ordered in the first minute, the first day, and no charge yet.
 
Ugh...I just got off the phone with VZW, and my order has been delayed for a "random system error". I preordered within three minutes and up until today was scheduled for shipping on 7/9. I just checked it moments ago and it says:

There is an error in your order. Please refer to the email sent for more information.
Expected Ship Date: 07/11/2012

I called in and they checked everything, and they said it is a mistake in their system, and that it just randomly bumped me back in the queue, but that there was a note on there end about how "there were more preorders than units available." I was offered a free case for my troubles, and they told me there is nothing they can do to move up the ship date. I am not happy.

My loss is your gain, though, because they read to me from their screen that "Pre-orders can expect to start receiving their units on July 5th."

Boo for me; yay for many of you!

BOA pretty much posts transactions when it hits their system online as pending. End of day is when all transactions are actually processed and clear. Good way to check on where the wife is.

I used my bank credit/debit card. Fairly instant transaction updates on my banks website.:rock:
 
Yep, mine was charged today as well. The order status screen is slightly different now too.

Is is typical for them to charge the card a week in advance? I've never pre-ordered before. Or is this a sign that they may be shipping early??

Oh yeah, and I pre-ordered first thing that morning. I work the late shift, but made sure my alarm was set. I think I got like 4 hours sleep that night. Better be worth it!!!
 
I ordered mine this past Saturday and was immediately charged (because I got a notice by e-mail from the cc company). Mine said expected ship date of July 11th, but now says a ship date of the 9th. I dunno
 
About 45 minutes ago I checked my order on VZW.com and I could see the order.
Now when I check it it says there is no order history :confused:

any one else with this?

as far as i know verizon typically charges the card right when the phone is shipped out.. not before, so if the card is charged should mean the phone shipped.
