[Verizon] Problems with flashing the "Shiny" 4.4 ROM

got 4.4 working now, the home button don't work and google now, and one of my favorite apps don't work, can u downgrade to 4.3.1, until this gets fixed?

how do u root 4.4? i am using ClockworkMod and when i select reboot and install nothing happens

So what are you currently on? If you're just stock, you can try Wugfresh ToolKit (should be in the ATR stickie).
Yeah I'm using Wugfresh ToolKit to root it now, that guy had me confused by saying flash that ROM to get root access.

Yeah, that post was a little confusing I agree. I think there are some phones out there (HTC, maybe?) where flashing a ROM is HOW you root. I simply used ROM Manager to flash CWM if you have TWRP installed now. Worked fine.

Hmm, was going to upgrade to the 11/5 build but looks like I lost root. Guess it helps to read the directions.
yes, reading ALL of the directions is very important with that ROM. Cant just assume that you know what you are doing. :)
This is the link people should really be following if flashing for the first time:

http://rootzwiki.com/topic/36706-ro...roid-431-jls36i-no-bugs/page-841#entry1504882 (even though it says pretty clearly in the OP link, to go to that^^ link first) :)
The rom comes unrooted out of the gate, flashing superuser after flashing the rom is necessary for root; some users report the rom is more stable without root.

the reason he says it is bug free is because every function of the phone works. The only real hang up is the graphical issues, which is possibly related to the random reboots and hanging.

except receiving calls

Fyi, twrp is updated to accomodate 4.4. I just flashed KK using it.

Thanks for the update, Steven!
Did you use goo to update TWRP? What ROM are you running?
Haven't done much with mine lately as the power button is so flakey. Miss the old app that allowed slide to unlock/lock, but it looks very dependent on what kernel you're running.

Yeah I checked it out, definitely works.

I have tried most of the Kitkat roms for the GNex and found the best one to actually be Shiny's.

The Experience Project from XDA has graphical glitches just about every time you pull down the notification tray...also has a lot of restarts.

Slimkat is pretty good, the occasional graphic glitch and restart.
