[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

Guess I use a lot of stock settings then. Takes me all of 30 minutes to set up my GN.
It took me almost 2 hours start to finish. It may have taken a little longer this time because I was writing down the steps to make a better checklist so I don't miss things (and maybe it won't take me as long in the future.) The good thing/bad thing with AOKP is there are so many things I like to customize to make it "just right." Lock screen background, lock screen style, lock screen apps, toggles, nav bar icons, nav bar color (I've finally memorized #ff33b5e5), nav bar height, etc, etc, etc... Don't forget wallpaper and ringtones and having to black list Girl Guide (because she calls me ALL the time!) :)

At first blush Build 32 seems pretty good. Since I'm out of the country I can't really evaluate battery life, but so far it's fairly responsive and no hiccups.

Ok guys this has been an issue for me for several builds now and it is extremely frustrating. When I try to flash an inverted market, I can't purchase anything all I get is "An error occurred please try again later." The only way I can fix this is by doing a complete wipe and not flash the inverted market again. Does anyone have any ideas because this is frustrating.

Where are you getting your inverted market? I use InvertedPhonesky.zip and haven't had any problems with Market.

BTW Patriot, I smile every time I read your signature. :)

Was waiting for M5, but my phone is FUBAR and needs a wipe.

So, I know what I'm doing today. Hopefully to M5 won't need a full wipe.

several issues with B30 and B31 that I had with liquid smooth as well (yes, full wipes before every install); haven't seen these listed in this thread yet, so thought I'd share.

1. Browser would FC when opening multiple windows of android forums site. Fairly repeatable. (seems to happen on all vBulletin sites?)
2. Keyboard, if left open in a text message app (stock) or Gmail (stock) would respond to key touches and show words typed in spelling correction, but would not put them in text box. Only way to fix was exit out of application. Fairly repeatable.
3. Phone shut down (restart) when attempting to connect to BT in car. Still wouldn't reconnect when it restarted. Had to reboot in order to connect BT. Worked fine the rest of the time during multiple connects/disconnects; only did it once.
4. Battery % on lock screen didn't match actual battery % (was 1% high.) Actually have a screenshot of this one.

I can confirm numbers 2-4 for sure. I never ran into number 1, but that does not mean anything of course.

Hope that these issues are fixed. If not, we need to let roman know so that they can be addressed in number 33?

Just flashed b32 now. Thinking of just trying the stock kernel for now to see how it goes with battery life etc. Anyone here NOT running Lean? :p

It's not the apps that I mind redoing. It's all the settings that I have to redo that are the pita.

Anyway, I'm in the middle now. Already backed up, wiped, wiped, wiped, flashed B32 & gapps, rebooted, backed up again, flashed LK and inverted gapps, downloaded TB and now restoring apps... :)

BTW, what are you doing up so late Dan? It's only 2 in the afternoon here, but I know it's 1 am in Georgia. Don't you have to work tomorrow?

You ought to make an "update.zip" for TiBu and have it on your drive. (In the "update.zip" menu, toggle system application and change the name to "TitaniumBackup-XXXX" in order to keep up with the current version). Then during your flashing you can mount system, flash the zip and you will have TiBu readily available ready to go. I actually skip the sign-in long enough to restore backups and then set up through the market. Hint: when you get to the setup screen tap the screen top-left, top-right, bottom-right, bottom-left...in that order to disable until ready.

You don't have to memorize that. Just hit the !!! button. That will load the official ics color. Then tap the color box to apply.

Is Lightflow working for you guys running b32? Mine seems to have stopped. Gonna try uninstall reinstall just in case.

I also did a full wipe coming from b31. So no dirty flashes here. :p

Uninstall reinstall seems to be ok.

/me thinks its a conflict (yet again) with sms popup. I will contact the dev.

Cheers.

Thanks Ron. Unfortunately, with that apk I get the same error. Anyone else have any other ideas? I think if I can't get it fixed by the end of the day I'll have to wipe again. That'll make 5 wipes this week. If anyone has even a slight clue I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

And about the signature, haha thanks I'd almost forgotten I had it since I'm always on the Phandroid app haha. I have a shirt that says it! :D

My Lightflow isn't working either.

Edit: Now I read that your uninstall/reinstall worked. Thanks, I'll do that.

I just finished a nandroid. I'm glad i saw this before flashing. Light flow is one of those things that HAS to work for me. My phone is on vibrate all day at work and 95% of the time at home too so the different led colors let me know if i need to look at the phone now or later.

Lightflow now works for me. Thanks Trooper.

You are quite welcome. :)

Question for those running Lean on AOKP.

I notice that when I first flash AOKP and Im on the faux kernel, the display is bright white and just seems brighter overall.

I flash Lean, and it just dulls the brightness way down.

Do I need glasses or is something going on here?

I purposely have not flashed Lean today after flashing b32 and all is well with faux kernel. But I know if I flash Lean it will become less bright.

Can I haz some opinions here please? :)

Go into ROM Control -> Performance -> Color Multipliers Tuning and tap the "Reset to Defaults" button in the faux/stock kernel and it will look "dull" again. The reason it looks brighter is because it is :) They default boost the brightness on all three R/G/B.

Thanks man. I like the look of faux better. Its easier to read. But. I notice some lag in the keyboard. So gonna flash lean after all and see if it helps.

Thanks again man. : )

You're most welcome :) Basically, you can use that configuration to change the brightness offset. This is especially handy for people who use auto brightness because at its dimmest, many folks found it was just too dim.

I noticed this, too (which is how I was able to answer your question hehe) and for me on the Android default (which I think LeanKernel uses) at 38% it was about as bright as AOKP stock/faux @ ~25% (or probably slightly less).

Also another note is that use of 100% brightness while also boosting the multipliers can increase the risk/shorten the time of burnin and wear on the LEDs I believe.

Play store is missing for me after a clean flash ofb32 then installing the modded play store on LCD density moder pro. Did they move the app in b32? Also, cell bars are gray even though I'm connected...

Still gone after a dirty re-flash of b32 :(

Can i somehow get just the market app somehow? really don't want to to another clean flash right away...

Just gonna bump this one last time guys before I'm forced to wipe tomorrow. If anyone has any clue please share I really don't want to wipe a fifth time this week. Thanks all

Re-flashing gapps fixed the blue cell bars being gray but play store is still gone even after I restored it from my nandroid with TiBu pro. WTF? Guess I'll just restore b31 and try.again with b33.
