[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

I hear ya, I'm fat and happy on B38 & LeanK and when I seen some of them a-jumpin on the first bean in sight I knew better because the bells and whistles of AOKP would be missing. The AOKP Bean is gonna be fun. Just in time too.
Just finished building and dialing in a gaming PC and fully available for the bean..

Thanks, I was afraid my dyslexia was in a higher gear.

Not to de-rail the thread, but what did you put in your gamming PC? I've been pricing stuff out the last day or so for a new rig... My first try came in around 1400 :( I think I need to lower my desire to meet my wallet around 1k :/

that was:
i7 cpu
128gb ssd
nvidia 670 gpu (2gb)
8GB of ram
750 PS
case
B-ray player/dvd burner
and a MB

I can de-rail my own thread right :D (and for the record you can too)

There really is no need for the i7 imo. Go i5 2500K and save some $ towards something else that would be more user specific like a higher end gfx card if you game, a nicer case with some custom super quiet fans, or most importantly a high quality PSU like a Seasonic. Money better spent imo.

Most definitely put a tried and true brand name SSD in there for your OS and main programs.

Besides a high end gfx card you can easily do that for $1000

Since we are in the topic...and still waiting for AOKP JB...
I recently did a new PC:
AMD A8 unlocked (quad core with GPU on chip...but the MB does dual SLI in addition to the chips GPU) 16g ram, 750 modular psu, bluray burner, H70water cooler, MSI MB, 2TB green drive...spent $360...but I still need to add an SSD.
I run Sky rim at ultra high graphics, no stutter....
That's an upgrade from an XP machine with a celeron single core....

If I do a nandroid and backup with TB and then do a complete wipe I still can go back to this, right?

thanks
Billd

Yup. Nandroids are stored on your SD Card partition, which is untouched during a wipe data/factory rest in recovery. Same with TB backups, they're stored on the SD Card partition.

Hey JB, when you were checking out their gerrit did ya see anything about adding device nakasi/grouper? As excited as I am about AOKP, I'd be kinda ticked if it drops for my GNex but not my Nexus 7..

lol I know it's looking to be most epic (did I just say that :p)

I'm thinking a late Saturday release....hmm...

That'd be typical release time for them. I was thinking either 1AM Friday or right before I go to bed Saturday. No sleep either way...

Anyone else having issues with 4G fall and losing data on Milestone 6?

I have used AOKP since day one and flashed many of their builds, but this is the first time I've had data issues.

At least 6 times in the last week my I was running on 3G when I'm sitting in Washington, DC where I know I have 4 bars of 4G.

When I toggle 4G on and off, 4G comes back for a few minutes, and then it goes back to 3G. If I toggle airplane mode, data never comes back. I have to reboot the phone.

This hasn't happened on any other build and my apps have all been the same.

I'm ready to go back to B38, or flash a JB ROM.

Any one have any ideas?

I got my nexus yesterday and rooted it and whatnot (great community and support you have over here for the nexus...coming from metro pcs lol) I tried installing this ROM however and I got an error saying assert script error (status 7). I haven't had time to look through all of the posts on this thread to see if this is a known issue (this a pretty popular thread lol).

I have dealt with status 7 errors by deleting the first line of the updater script (the line with assert in it) but I was wondering if that's what I should do here or if there was a better option?
Thanks in advance

What recovery are you using to flash? That error was largely reported a while back and was due to an outdated recovery version. Welcome here good to have you. :)

Ya know I think VZ has had network issues recently. I've seen it posted a lot and have experienced in my locale this week. Nothing in M6 should affect signal IMO. That said, JB rocks

I am using cwm...not sure which version but its probably outdated lol. I used wugs root method and I'm still on whatever recovery was flashed at that point. Can I just use from manager to flash it over? I saw the sticky about the latest version bricking devices. Is that still the case??

Yeah you can use ROM manager to update recovery. I'd use the tried and true cwm touch 5.8.0.2 as it is as good as it gets for a recovery. I haven't tested the newest version yet.

Rom- M6
