[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

The radio has nothing to do with the ROM.
The only way to change the radio is to flash another radio.
Nandroids do not backup or restore the radio.

Well apparently a few ROMs do flash the radio, but I don't think its a good idea.

Quick question before I proceed.

Should full wipe before installing the B27 nandroid?

Or just restore?

Ohhh...

Advance restore or just restore?

What recovery are you using? Clockworkmod does not backup the radio. I'm 99% sure Amon Ra doesn't either.

A broken flash of the radio is one of the sure fire ways of bricking a device (even a Nexus), so ROMs usually don't include them (and when do, should have a warning IMHO) and recoveries don't because if you wiped/flashed the radio every time you flashed a nandroid, you'd risk corruption/failed flash and bricking the device.

Is there an AmonRa Recovery for the Nexus?

Yeah I'm really considering flashing back to b26 or M3... :(

I think either it's franco M1 that doesn't like my phone or the combination of AOKP M4 and franco M1 doesn't.

With franco the previous night, my phone lost 19% of its battery over night (~7.5 hours).

With LK 2.5.0 last night, my phone lost 7% in 8.5 hours...

I still have some issues with google talk wake locks, but the deep sleep seems to have improved greatly with LK 2.5.0. I'm going to stick with M4 for the time being.

Its M4. Its being reported by many as a battery eater. I have tried all kinds of kernels and re-flashing and such and its not as good as M3. Especially in sleep/

Definitely could be, but going from 2.5%/hr drop (franco M1) to 0.82%/hr drop (LK 2.5.0), something is definitely up with M4+francoM1.

I'm assuming you guys are on the extended battery, I am and figured everyone that roots probably would be as well. I'll see exactly how it is over the next few days, battery life wasn't an issue until I flashed m4.

No extended battery here. Do you keep lte on all the time? If you dont have good lte coverage or have a need for speed shut it off. I keep mine off all the time. I play at home mostly on wifi

BTW, has anyone at AOKP confirmed and/or is debugging this if it's a widely reported issue?

So yea I need to take my previous statement back, I'm still not getting as good battery life as stock rooted. It went south with m4, and I don't think the franco m1 kernel helped any. I like m4, and since I don't play on my phone all day I'll keep it for the time being, so I may try leankernel.

I installed lean kernel last night. I'm going to give lean and M4 a chance to play together today. If this doesn't work, I'm going back to 27 tonight.

I've been running M4 & LK for a couple days and battery life had taken a big hit. As much as I like M4 I think I'm going back to B27.

What were you using with B27? I am not getting the battery life I was on previous versions. And I have the itch to flash.

Running Axiom v9 with included Franco R94 kernel. Definitely getting better battery life than on M4 with included kernel.

I know the KANG team has got to be hearing of all this yet they are quiet. Vacation? We used to post bragging rights to sleep time usage and the like mad and now............... you see maybe one or two.

Battery life on M4 with stock kernel has been the best battery I've ever seen on my phone since my Franco 13.1 days.

I do a full wipe ymdroid before a restore.

Guess I'm just getting lazy in my old age. I've stayed on M3 with M1 kernel and battery life is great with everything running smoothly.
