[Verizon] [ROM] AOKP JB-MR1 Milestone 2 [4.2.2] (07.21.13) TORO

I have looked all over Twitter and on rootz wiki and I have no indication of an eta for build 2. The second link in the op will get you to a thread which has updated nightlies of build 1, which contain merges from the gerit since build 1.

So let me break it down. It used to be that we would get a build every 7-14 days, which would precede a milestone. Now we have a build, the nightlies between that build and the next, more builds and nightlies in between, then milestones (which we've, of course, not yet had for jelly bean aokp).

My OP revamp may take a couple days as these nightlies, builds and eventual milestones are adding more work. I hope that helps.

Dumb question but... what does OP stand for?

Anybody have kernel suggestions and a link? My battery is going dead by noon some days since i flashed JB B1

You can mask the issue by flashing the newest Franco or lean kernel. But IMO, its the ROM that is draining the batty. I went back to xenonHD aftet trying aokp's for about 4 days.

M6 had the option to hold the power button with the screen off to turn on Torch. Did that option make it over to B1 yet? I can't seem to find it.

If not, is there any other way to activate that (app)?

It's not there yet and for some reason the toggle switch in the notification drawer doesn't work for me. :/

Nexus Torch (by Ben Buxton) does not work for me.

Neither does the AOKP toggle.

Lastly...an app would only sorta satisfy me. I LOVE the option to hold down the power button to turn it on. You could reach in your pocket and start holding the button as you slide it out. By the time it's out and facing what you want to light up, the torch is already on. No need to even look at the screen to toggle something or open an app.

Hope this finds its way back into the ROM soon!

I created a shortcut for torch back when I had aokp b37. I haven't changed my nova layout much since then, and if I clean flash I'll restore a nova backup and I'll still have the torch shortcut.
It's a shortcut to systemUI, and I can't recreate it. Weird.

AOKP Build 1 with leankernal installed on a stock battery. I'm happy with this...

Downloading now.

So dirty flash or clean flash for you? What is your dirty flash method? Just wipe dalvik cache and cache and flash? Haha, that rhymes me thinks? :p:o

Lol. Yes I dirty flashed. Me personally, I wipe cache and dalvik cache and system. I've heard some developers say wiping system isn't necessary, but it works for me, and it makes sense to me (clear the old SYSTEM and put on a new SYSTEM but keep the same DATA) so that's what I do

I think they say you don't have to because most ROMs wipe system as part of the install process.

Are you guys seeing Maps running and using up battery? I have. Its not a lot, but at the moment its listed as using 6%. FYI I have not even opened Maps up yet today.

Not on the current nightly just yet. I am using 8/26 nightly.

Is latitude or location history turned on?

I'm aware of that...but some also say 2 do a factory reset twice...though now that I think about it they were probably joking and I didn't get it... :o
