[Verizon] rom issue with CWM

Im looking to update my rom, get something a bit newer. Everytime i download a rom, I run it through CWM and when it starts to program it, I get a big X on the android symbol, not being able to load the rom.

I'm running codename android 3.6.6

are you verifying the MD5 of the rom you downloaded? What ROM are you trying to install? Can you give us more info on what you're doing step by step? Thanks.

i tried downloading jsourcery 4.5

didn't verify md5, oops. How would I do this with a mac?

Have you updated CWM lately? Older versions don't play well with JB roms. And also, can we assume that you are wiping data/cache/dalvik prior to loading the new rom?

I believe on a Mac, the command format would be openssl md5 <filename>

As scary mentioned you could do it via command line in a terminal window. However i use this app
