[Verizon] Sourcery 4.2.1 Pre-Release Thread

Thanks for the twrp tip. I've been using clockwork recovery and after previews 1, 2, & 3 my sdcard is all messed up. Sourcery is awesome.

so odd, I would assume cwm had fixed the issue same as twrp has. seems cwm is more hit and miss for users. Glad twrp fixed it for you.

One issue w/TWRP. I cannot seem to copy the TWRP folder to my PC for backup. Only the folder structure copies, not the files within. Odd.

I'm running it... love it. For some reason the dev cannot get the search key to integrate into the nav bar correctly, so he removed it. You don't really need it but I've used it so long, I feel like I lost a limb!

Eagle wrote a kernal, sweaty...it's really good. I was surprised to see eagle kernel.

I'm getting an issue pre5 with Google music where the album art disappears when waking and unlocking. Also, none of my equalizer settings through DSP will kick off and not come back on unless I actually go into the equalizer settings. Is this happening to anyone else? This is a clean flash plus I deleted Google music and reinstalled and it still happens

edit* so it's definitely NOT the rom. I tried out another one just to check and it is still happening. Looks like a super clean up is in order!

I wanted to like this. I really did. It has every optimization I like. I was on Pre-release 3 but it was really sluggish and I found myself getting really frustrated a la my days with the DX. I'm using Franco's 3.0.53 nightly kernel. Also tried stock. Does anyone think this is kernel related or just isn't sitting right on my device?

Did you do a factory reset when installing? Any reason you changed kernels?

On a new rom or kernel install things don't settle in for 24 hours or so. Changing things before then really doesn't allow you to get a " clear" picture of how it will run

Yes - always a clean install. I think you're asking for trouble otherwise. I changed kernels b/c it was running SO sluggishly.

I had given it about 48 hours before I switched kernels. The kernel switch did nothing so I bailed on the ROM.

I suppose I could try PR5? Can't hurt right? Unless 6 is imminent!

Okay developers, I have just a couple of questions:

(1) I can start my music on my Bluetooth headset with one press of the button, but it takes 3 presses to pause it.

(2) Not that I'm a weirdo or anything, but what happened to the option to silence camera sounds? Was that some legal issue? Just curious.

Is it possible to have navBar and the NavRing run independently? I'd love to have full screen with the navbar height at zero..but still have the ability to swipe up and use the navring quick keys! If you agree with this request..than like this post and draw some attention to it!!
