I have a hard time with TBU. I have some really noobish questions.

I have requested a thread or category be started here but until then or not........... I'll ask just one.

  • All that stuff I uploaded to DropBox, what can I use it for. and how do I do it? :o

I like it. I just use the Crtl + F to enter and find key words through out the tutorial.

I don't use the upload to DB option personally, the only reason I could see using it is if you are changing phone and want to transfer your user app data to another phone. All it does is upload your backup to DB so you can download at another time if you need.

If you download the dropbox app you should be able to export the TiBU data to your SD card and restore it. I suppose you could also use it to wirelessly put your backups on your CPU if you really want to but I don't see the need since I redo my backups before I flash roms.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Guys,

I tell ya, I purchased it solely on word of mouth around here. Then I get into it and find myself aggravated by its interface.

But want to learn it so thanks.

Now,,,,, I just did a full blown un-root and lock to out of the box condition and found a little sleeper I had and did not know how well it would have worked. Astro.

Before I un-rooted I drug my Internal Storage folder to a RAID-1 HDD set I have. I do this on a weekly schedule.

So I rooted, drug the Internal Storage back over, marketed Astro, opened the backup otion and there was all my stuff. Plain and simple. I chose CWM and upon its being restored there was all my nandroid ROM's! BAM! I restored the most recent and BAM!

I looked at TBU and all the too many different choices and closed it. Apps with data, apps with out data/user data/this data/that data/ data this/ data that UGH!

So....... you se I am kinda frustrated with TBU. Maybe its not for me.
BUT I'll not give up. I hope you guys will be on stand by for when I dig into it again.

I would like to hear how others use it in as close to a step by step method as I can get.

I don't have a step by step but I do the batch backups for user apps and data and restore user apps and data only.

Restoring system apps and system data can lead to plenty of issues I like to call them "Force Close Fiestas" other than that I don't bother with anything else in TiBU
