[Verizon] Titanium backup / auto market restore hassle

So I'm not exactly having a problem, but an annoyance. I guess it'd be a problem if I didn't have unlimited data.

Whenever I do a wipe and install a new ROM the play store starts immediately downloading everything for me. I have titanium backups of them, so I'd rather not do that. If I go to airplane mode that doesn't help because I do need to reinstall titanium first.

What I've been doing is watching for the titanium install then putting it to airplane mode, but there has to be a better way of stopping the downloads and just requesting the one. I can't figure it out though. Any ideas?

Second issue, is there anyway to skip the need to push install then wait then done for all the apps in Titanium? It's a bit of a pain.
 
On your phone, at settings > backup and reset, you can uncheck the option to backup to Google servers if you prefer to use Titanium and avoid the two methods competing with one another.

In order to avoid restoring each app in Titanium individually, you need the paid version. Then you can use the batch restore option and it'll do it all in one shot. (Settings > Batch)
 
Thanks for the settings answer, I'll do that next time.

Regarding titanium, I have the batch option and it works. It just interrupts me with that prompt for each of the external programs.

Yeah, I didn't word it well but the constant prompts are what goes away with the paid version. Once you start the batch restore, it finishes with no additional intervention on the part of the user.
 
Don't forget to make a flashable zip of TiBackup so you don't have to download and reinstall it from the Play store.

Options -> More -> Create "update.zip"
 
My BKM (best known method) for this is to immediately open the play store, hit menu -> my apps. Then hit the "stop updating XYZ apps". It'll stop, at which point you can manually install TiBu and restore your apps. :)
