what are you talking about??...what problems??

- Eventually yes, Verizon will push out an update for GingerBlur

- Nobody is ever going to FORCE you to update your phone, but they may stop supporting Froyo once the update is pushed, and the developers will move on from Froyo and start building things for Ginger

No one knows if VZ is going to push it, and some of us have had 0 problems. If the instructions are followed from the start then things go very smooth! Only problems I had earlier was with RDS Lite.

i followed the instructions from the start and had problems. with tethering and it wasn't quite as smooth in menus as people made it seem. not nearly as smooth as rubix that i put back on my phone. to the op, chances are the final build that verizon approves will fix the issues that random phones are having with gingerbread. if you do not like the leak, stay away from it. thats the thing about a leak, it may have been an early build that had some tweaks left to do with it. but i'm guessing this leak is close to final, but not it. i'm worried about the tethering tho. verizon obviously has something done to kick on their app when you launch a tethering app.

im confused as to what youre tethering issue is..

i haven't used tether but i think the majority of people that have jumped to the leak are very pleased with the build as a whole. Me included. I haven't had any issues at all. I was running Apex 1.4.1 before.

its typical to see sporadic problems with leaks. They aren't finalized and intended for the masses. Especially considering this build was supposedly rejected by verizon. I'm glad its running great for the majority of the people but it wasnt good on my device. I'll try installing it after a fresh sbf and if I still have problems then I'll wait for another version to be released. My main issue was with the tethering. Everything I tried didn't work and I tried plenty. Tethering is an absolute deal beaker for me. And it seems very apparent that verizon has changed how our phones handle that with ginger.

Team Black Hat said this build was dated March 23rd, which was apparently after the rejection...and there was no way anyone outside of Moto had tested this yet

So they have a direct link inside moto?

Technically the rumor surfaced on the 25th that it was rejected. And that they were another month away from a possible official release. Meaning this is either probably the rejected leak or one that's so new that moto had literally no time to test it themselves. I'm assuming someone leaked this after it was rejected. And I highly doubt verizon would have an official update that advises consumers to sign up for the hot spot on the at&t website.

that is my understanding

so you're saying that a build from march 23rd was delivered to Verizon, tested, and was rejected, all in two days? nah...not buying that...

this is the direct quote from Cell Zealot from TBH

This is definitely NOT the same build rejected by VZW! This build is dated 3/23/2011 and would not possibly have been tested by anyone outside Motorola yet.

Just an FYI!

P3 also explained at one point that ROM building is done CONSTANTLY at Moto, and they are not just working on single build at any given time...when its time for approval from Verizon its a matter of VZW finding a particular build that they like..

for instance...the 3.4.2 leak...That is the version of Blur that is currently running on the Atrix 4G...which means that was being developed along side the Gingerbread builds as well, and was likely never even submitted to VZW for approval and release...

Thanks for the insight. I obviously didn't have enough information to be making assumptions lol but i do think its possible that vzw stumbled on that at&t spoof and immediately rejected it, could easily happen within 5 minutes because that's in the app that is making verizon a lot of money. But your right, it has probably not been seen yet. I just don't think that Moto would sign off on a RC to send to verizon with such a glaring typo. it should say something about the effort moto has put into the dx build of ginger.

surely they would reject that right away, but its also just as likely that this was a completely different build that was never meant to be sent to VZW...and that the one they rejected for any other reason...
