Help Version Update?

I think you'll find out soon enough yourself. ;) We haven't had a chance to look at it yet - there standard method of automatic updates seem to be missing on these devices. Where was the notification, and how did you apply the update?
 
It happened automatically at 6:40 cst.
It gave a warning, not to turn off, then downloaded or ota happened, restarted by itself with the mute on so there was no sound, then had a window said it updated then resumed as usual.

I am conspiracy theory guy and I bet there is something to monitor us. Also I bet they complaining has maybe triggered an update to hopefully make things better. Just my thougts.
 
Could someone root, grab ShootMe on the Market, and take a screenshot of their About Phone screen (scrolled all the way down)?
 
I just went to the store today due to 4G not being received on my phone. Was told Samsung is in the steps of issueing some updated software to fix the issue. That could be it......only they will know for sure unless someone finds out for sure.
 
If you manually force the FOTA process it won't download it unless your phone has been "flagged" to receive the update. If one of you who has updated could get us a copy of the update.zip file on your SD card that would be awesome.

If you want to try manually have your SPC ready then use the hidden code ##data# then choose FOTA. Open DM account and press/hold over metropcs and choose "Start DM" then wait a few minutes. It probably wont do anything

If we can get the FOTA account details from someone who received this update we could enter them into our phones and download the new file
 
Your SPC is your MSL - to retrieve, connect to your PC, and use adb shell to do:

The MSL will be near the bottom.
 
or if someone who has gotten the update uses the odin stuff i posted to go back to the stock files they should be able to download the update again..

I thought the radio firmware was in its own area. The stock files will revert it? That could be a good thing if this update ends up being shit
 
The stock TAR as posted now will not revert the modems, but we have copies of the modems that can be flashed to revert as need be.

I don't understand why the long wait for an extended battery :confused:

Has any phone manufacture decided not to make an extended battery for one of their phones?

Shutting stuff down has helped with the battery life and evrything else seems
to be working just fine but I sure wish I could buy an extended battery.

They will come out with one ..yes or no ?

Technically, you CAN buy an extended battery. It's just not supported. But if you use a separate charger, and make your own extended battery door, it will work fine.

Tried to force FOTA again with no change. Still on ea29 and ea17

Im still on prl 3018 as well. Sigh
 
Coming from my higher up bosses, at least for SF area there is no ETA on that update. But I can confirm that its at least coming.
 
i received a message for an update and for some weired reason it said ''update failed go to a nearby metro store'' anybody had an issue like this?
