Your phone can be rooted or not for this. When it is done it will be rooted anyways.

To Update software/firmware and time as of now it only takes 15mins

iT takes time to read phone internal info and save for patching
It will automaticly disconnect your computer from the internet
turn off your internet on the phone
Restart your phone in a program mode displayed in little txt at the top
It will apply the patch phase 1
Run a diagnostic
After passing it will run Phase 2 ( if not it will attempt one more)
If it still does not it will tell you why)
And restore it back to the condition you had it)
Remove all my software and any gatherd phone information and dump its ram used from windows.
It will start Phase 2
Devices
OS
Services
Preinstall
Boot phone again

Restore your computer internet

Please note that first time installing and phone ready to go will take time to launch. After that first time it boots fast as hell...

The build number can't be compared between the R910 and R915. All the build number stands for is the year, month, and day it was built. The features are at par.

I didn't get any notices, but i did get the update.. my battery is lasting all day! :) and my internet is finally working!

The update referred to in this thread is incredibly old. Did you get something new? In Settings > About Phone, check your Build Number. If it says EE07, it's the same old update (which actually does nothing at all for battery life). If there's something else (not EA29, but anything 'higher' than EE07), and you have an R910, please stop by IRC and talk to someone with an @ by their name.

I had to exchange my phone a few weeks ago because it lost the ability to use 4G and the new phone has had EA29 CDMA and EA17 LTE ever since. It has Basix, but I can't seem to do *ANYTHING* to get it to update to EE07 or beyond.

Any ideas?

There is a manual update process available, though there is some risk involved, because the update (pushed automatically) has caused problems for limited numbers of users.

Are you talking about the ##Data#?? I've tried it and it literally does nothing for me.

Is there something else you had in mind?
