Ok I'm new to this thread had the phone for about a week, I got the phone rooted no problem and trying to install cm10, but there are so many different kernels and so many different listings of this phone on xda that it is giving me a severe headache trying install different roms or knowing what kernels go with what roms to flash it, I followed instructions off the thread and youtube videos and still catching.hell. could someone give me a walk through on their time, plz? Thanks

This phone is the same phone as the Sprint Epic 4g Touch which is also an SPH-D710. If you are on the XDA forums you want to go to the sections dealing with this phone.Any ROM for that phone will work on ours (even if it has Sprint labeling on the ROM).

There are some nice new Touch Wiz Jelly Bean ROMs out too. The beginners guide has some useful info in it as well.

As long as you remember the Sprint and Boost Samsung Galaxy S II 4g is the same phone as the Samsung Epic 4g Touch, your search for cool goodies for your phone will be a fruitful one.

Okay I flashed agat kernel.to root my phone, but then when I flash the cwm kernel to flash cyanogenmod 10 it gives me a error, what am I doing wrong?

You have to read the post and follow the instructions exactly for the ROM you want. I would alse read the thread on the ROM. Some have issues with slow 3g/4g performance.

Also Tell us which ROM you are wanting to use. Someone that is using it could tell you how they installed it.

i want to use a rom with no bugs none what so eva lol, and if there is a rom with a theme chooser on it, that would be excellent with everything working on it with no lags, can you help me find something like that?

CM and AOKP based roms use theme pick, as far as roms with no bugs that's hard to do because what you may consider a bug someone else may not.

Now if you just want a simple change to the look and feel, change your launcher with one from the play-store. ADW launcher and GO launcherEX are just a couple of them and those have theme changing abilities for them.

AprilThe20th is right though, I know of no ROM with absolutely no bugs, but for stable ROMs there are plenty including the new leaked JB ones out.

As the saying goes, "By the time something is totally free of bugs, it is obsolete."

Ok I tried the instructions and I guess I'm not smart enough cuz I'm flashing the wrong S, could some one please give me an a example of what modems, kernels, n rom's go together, cuz I'm screwing up

I did a one click install of the leaked GA10 JB ROM I am on. it put everything on all at once. I have been quite happy with it since. That install is a very easy to do, and the only adjustment you need to make is the settings for your MMS messages to work which are entered using your MSL code. It does not have a theme chooser but like i said you could just change your launcher to get a interface that does themes.

GA10 is a really nice rom.. it's what I'm using. I have tried almost all of the roms available on xda. I like them all but the aosp, cm, aokp roms have a few bugs that arent very big but they get annoying after awhile. Now I stick with stock jb roms...

I can help you get on cm10 if you like. I know the op mentions a safe recovery kernel but doesnt have one listed. I will post a dropbox link to the kernel you need when I get home and exact flashing instructions. Make a backup of your phone now. And make sure you have a copy of the agat kernel you used always on your sd card. That way if your phone ever wont boot after flashing something you can go into recovery with power +volume up. Flash agat kerel. Reboot recovery not system. Then restore the backup you made in that recovery. Always hold onto that backup and flashable agat kernel on your sd so you always have a lifeline :D
