Root Video cannot play

I don't think this is a BAMF issue, but I posted on their support forums, too, just in case. I'm running BAMF 1.0.9, which is 2.11.605.5 and Sense 3, on my girlfriend's thunderbolt and most of the embedded videos that I try to play from websites will not play... they just go to the video player and give me the "Sorry, this video cannot be played" error. It used to play these videos, just fine.

I've tried installing the enhanced browser from the BAMF forever thread, tried clearing the browser's data (oops, there went my bookmarks), tried installing Dolphin browser, tried uninstalling the Flash updates and also tried reinstalling them...

The videos in question play fine from my OG Droid, running CM7 nightly.
My standard video to test has been one of the episodes at RainloverKnits (she's a crafter/knitter)

Any ideas?

I have this problem on Liquid as well. I have given up on getting it to work. I have done all the tricks and hacked apk's to no avail. If there's an option to play the video in the YouTube app I always chose that. If there isn't, then I watch the video on my PC. Does it suck, yup, it does, but the other advantages of the ROM outweigh not being able to watch a video every now and then

Is Liquid a Sense ROM? Gingerbread? What browser does it use?

Anyone on another ROM, on the thunderbolt, like CM7, want to test this, so that we can start to narrow it down?

yup, that works

So you get the flash content? Then it may not be flash related. On your browser do you have it set to display mobile versions or regular versions? Try toggling off then go to the site, then toggle it on if that doesn't get it going.

I assume those of u on ROMs based on CM7 have tried: Video Fix
I'm on liquid and it fixed all my issues(just remember to do it for every browser u use)
***ONLY USE IF YOUR ON A ROM BASED ON CYANOGENMOD***

yup, flash content is there, whether or not "mobile view" is checked or unchecked.

No matter which is checked, the videos do not work. They don't try to play inline, either, like they would on a desktop browser, they show up as a box with an icon in the middle of it. A grey video strip looking icon with an arrow in it.

I messed around trying some of the stuff in the "Video Fix" link suggested above, and I think I just made flash a little worse, no effect on it's ability to play videos. Had no effect, mostly, I assume, because Sense uses a different browser... tried changing the version Flash is reporting... but wget didn't really work, kept giving me a "bad address" in terminal emulator... so that was a bust.

HOWEVER. I downloaded Opera, set flash to On and set it to not Mobile and the videos showed up inline and PLAYED.

Not really the solution that I want, since my girlfriend is not going to want to change browsers, but it's a band-aid that will do, for now.

I said "ROM based in Cyanogenmod", if your on sense following the directions in my link may have broken things, I'm not sure.

Yes, I know. But all seemed to be back to "normal," after I reinstalled Flash from the market.

Maybe I can convince her to try CM7 and give up Sense... I doubt it, though.

I did the flash trick again for Dolphin and videos are now working. For some reason videos on ESPN.com do not play. Those are always the videos I try and play so I wonder if my flash was working all along?

Can anyone try and play a video off ESPN and see if it works?
