Root [VIDEO] HowTo UnRoot Incredible by downgrading

YouTube - HTC Droid Incredible Downgrade

This will remove Root and Custom Recovery (Clockwork) from your handset.

Instructions:
1. make Sure your microsd card is formated to FAT32
2. Place PB31IMG.zip on root of SD Card
3. Reboot
4. Hold Down Vol Down into HBoot
5. It will ask if you want to update
6. Select Up to accept
7. Wait..........
8. it'll finish updating and ask to reboot
9. select vol + to choose yes
10. Done

This is perfect I can now try the root method and then un-root when my phone goes back in 12 days :)

I did a factory reset via the recovery and I did NOT loose root. Superuser.apk and permissions stayed.

Just tossing that out there. Wondering if maybe it was a fluke...
 
Thank you for the guide and for hosting the files instead of us having to rely on crappy file hosting services. :)
 
Just FYI - your SDCARD seems to require FAT32 formatting for this to work. Mine was FAT and it kept acting like the file wasn't there until I formatted the card within the phone OS (which is fat32)
 
Thanks for the instructions, this may come in very handy!

I am having a problem though. It seems that the .zip file you provided is corrupt. I have downloaded it numerous times (and on multiple computers), and I cannot open it. I just get a message saying that the .zip file is invalid or corrupted.

Your not supposed to open the file. Just save to root of SD card.
 
Damn no luck just keeps saying no image or wrong image. Reformated the sd card. tried a different one. no luck.
 
Sheesh. Finally did a long format of the card again using a PC to FAT32 and 1024 cluster. That worked. Thanks. I'm sending the phone back. It over heats and goes into a reboot cycle. Does it even if not rooted. Reactivated my WM phone and I'll wait for the Droid X.
 
Good stuff man, thanks a lot! Have to send my phone back to the insurance company after getting wet, was able to get it on running long enough to unroot and clean it up so they don't give me a problem!
 
When I rooted my phone, I deleted some useless apps such as FriendstreaM and City ID. If I do this process, will it load those programs back onto my phone. If it won't how do I do that?
