most custom kernels will have support for hdmi mirroring. just flash a custom kernel (since you are on stock, flash a sense kernel) and you should be able to hdmi mirror with no problems.

Thanks Ocn I was wondering if you could do it from the usb insted of the hdmi but I just looked on amazon and the hdmi cable is under $10 now so Ill just order a cable.

no i do not think you can do it via usb. it needs to be done thru hdmi.

Check monoprice. It may be cheaper there.

Hello,

I haven't logged into the forums in over a year but I thought I might add to this thread.

Whereas you cannot get true video-out via the USB port on the EVO, you can use Dalvik Debug Monitor [DDMS] to essentially capture a series of screenshots in real-time to simulate video.

This method is slow, for obvious reasons, but it worked for me in the past when I presented a slide show.
