Root Video recording choppy post-root

I'm sure most of you have at one point or another experienced the stops and starts that come with 720p video recording on the EVO. I purchased a faster SD card and that completely solved the problem. Until recently my videos were all smooth regardless of resolution. Suddenly, regardless of resolution, if there is any sort of movement in the videos, there are stops and starts in the recording. The only thing significant that has changed is that I have rooted my phone. Has this been a problem for anyone else? Is there any solution? Is it likely that something else other than the root is to blame?

have you installed setcpu? if so, have you underclocked or changed the governor to conservative?

No. Post rooting I have done very little other than delete some programs that I didn't want on my phone (only those from the list regarded as safe to get rid of on these forums, like the blockbuster app, amazon mp3, nova, etc.).

I'd suggest getting an optimized ROM such as MikG on there.
