Help Viewing phone on tv

Is there a way to connect my phone either to a PC or TV so i can watch net flix while I'm out of town.
 
We have wifi hdmi, but that only applies to certain lg smart tv sets.

(Edit) would that limitation be on the kernel?
 
 
Word... Prolly shoulda mentioned that. It's worth a shot, though. Amazon's got a decent return policy. Might end up just being a dead-end headache.

Okay, did a little research and found that those adapters would most likely NOT work for this phone since it's not MHL compatible. But it is DLNA compatible, so if you got wifi and a DNLA receiver on your tv, then you'll be good to go through the "smartshare" app. For ex//: I had to give this a try as soon as I found out. I have an xbox360, so with it turned on, I opened the smartshare app, and it asks for a "from" source, in which case you'd pick your phone's video library. Then it asks for a "to" source, in which case you'd pick your xbox... then you select a file to play and it automatically starts playing. You can still utilize your phone while it plays by pressing the home button.

I know that this isn't very helpful for traveling, unless there's a portable DLNA-usb adapter or some shit like that... I guess in the end it's a bit of a disappointment, cuz I'd love to play some of my emulators on a big screen (which you can't do with DLNA, only HDMI output) but considering this phone was only 50$, I guess you get what you pay for... Guess this phone isn't a complete keeper, looks like I'll need to upgrade again eventually.:shot: My girlfriend's totally gonna kill me.:p Luckily not for at least another year from now.:D

Maybe it's just me but this makes sense to me. I'd be surprised if the general no HDMI changes soon.

Metro already has enough issues I'm sure with those they have to throttle for data use. If every phone bingobango zapped Netflix to TV they'd probably have WAY MORE serious data hogs than now.

Not to mention that it also is similar in philosophy was tethering in that it negates the phone being a "do all, Stand Alone" device like it's intended to be.

Question for the day.

Why would you need to stream vid from your phone to a tv that could (by definition of being a smart tv) already stream it's own video?

Install foxfi if you can't tether natively.

Get the add on to hide tether

Yeah i can see my laptop on my tv. Wanted to connect my phone to play Netflix. Not tether. Kinda like what the psps were,able to do. You coukd see you psp screen playing on the laptop screen. Just seeing if its possible.

Forget FoxFi, u can use the native hotspot manager preinstalled on the phone.

But this is by far the best "working" solution here.

WiFi to ur laptop, run netflix, HDMI to TV
