Root "Virgin" HTC EVO 4G build 2.18 and Software 5.07

Never been Rooted ... Always been update with all HTC and Sprint updates Firmare and all.

Now after reading a jillion forum threads.. Most are dated...
I would like a definitive answer by the gurus.

From my reading the version I have - HTC EVO 4G
Android Version: 2.3.5
Baseband 2.18 (according to Revoked and revolution) but shows 2.15 on phone
Kernel Version
2.6.35.10 9/04/2012
Software and Build Number: 5.07.651

Rooting is not available... Is this correct?

Welcome! The good news is that you WILL be able to root your Evo. Over the life of the phone it's gotten harder with each update, but it's still possible. Take a look at the link below and use the instructions provided in it to make sure of your Hboot and confirm that it is 2.18.

Take plenty of time to read through all the instructions and ask all the questions you need.

welcome to the forums!!!!!!!
so baseband is your radios and not the hboot version. to verify please go into the bootloader. at the top of the screen it will say what your hboot version is and what radio you have......it is all in the guide that biker57 has posted........so yes you can root your phone.
