Virgin Mobile Rumored Devices Thread

So say I am thinking about transferring to VM within the next month. Right now I am currently looking at the SII because it meets all the credentials I have been looking for. (High(ish) quality camera, big screen, fast interface)

Will a better phone becoming out within that time period? Or should I just pick up a SII at the current $279 price tag?

yeah I would wait for summer too. All of their "high end" phones are on sale...even the iPhone 4/4s which should give you the impression that new phones are on the way and will (most likely) be LTE

If anything was coming in June, we would of already heard about it by now; so I would say late summer, middle/late Q3 to early Q4 we should hear some news. Boost Mobile is rumored to be getting a iPhone in the fall.

Shoot. I was really hoping to have a phone to use throughout the summer. I'll just wait until the end of the month and see what happens. If nothing new comes out, I'll probably just pick up the SII and be done with it.

Thanks for the help guys :)

i would like to have the htc one sv, but it is on boost instead of vm. Why does sprint do that? Much rather have htc over samsung. As far as i can see, the same phones should be available for boost, vm, or sprint. Then, you can choose how much phone you want to pay for. Since all three are owned by sprint, what difference does it really make which one you choose, or what phone you buy?

This totally how I feel. I think all phone should be available on all the companies. I dont know why they section certion ones off like that. I wish vm had the htc one sv also.

Why not? I really like the look of them and the software seems really easy to use.

windows is the least secure os, has as many security holes as swiss cheese, and do you really trust a company with their track record ? I will stick with android (linux).
Dirty secret: the apple os is also linux based. Hence, the copyright lawsuits between google/samsung and apple.

I believe Apple is using a Unix based operating system.

Really? This shows that your info on the Windows Phone software is ignorant at best. No disrespect to you, but the Windows OS for computers is the least secure. Why? Mostly, the large market share of it motivates hackers to spend their resources on attacking it. Windows Phone on the other hand, has not had some security breaches, if any at all . It has been stated over and over that the fully locked Windows Phone OS is the safest anyone can use. Android on the other hand, is the least secure. Over 90% of malware or other dangers are found within Android. Add open source software, and Android is rather dangerous to those who may not know what they're doing, and even fools experts. I own an Android, but WP8 is a great OS, and Virgin Mobile may get a WP8 phone when Sprint gets them within the next few months.

Android is pretty secure actually, any program that can cause damage would need SU permission, which the user would have to give it.

So do you think that the prices will go back up at the end the month? Even if something new comes?

If a new phone comes, I think they will stay down, just because that would make sense, but if the new one is listed at a marginal amount more than what they already have in their lineup, they'll probably raise them back up to make the new phone look cheaper.

I don't really want to spend more than $350 on a new phone, so the odds are that unless they somehow have a new phone at a great price, I'll be picking up the SII at the end of the month.

just picked up vm samsung galaxy victory 4 g lte at best buy for under 200. now, need vm to put up tower in northwest suburbs of rochester, ny and turn on lte service. The lakeshore area has better coverage on att and tmobile over sprint and verizon.
