Root [Virgin Mobile/Sprint] AParted wont detect my SD card

I just rooted my F3 using saferoot, installed AParted and link2sd

put in a blank 16gb sd card, my phone sees it in the storage menu, but AParted always says "no sd device detected, set in configuration menu"

im guessing I need to manual enter the location of my device or something? I tried putting /storage/external_SD in there but that didn't work, thought it was worth a shot. ive tried it with the card mounted and unmounted..

I googled it and found pretty much nothing

all I can do with my phone is delete it/erase everything on it as far as ive found. didn't help.

in settings >storage>sd theres no actual format option or im missing it

Card is erased and unmounted, but AParted doesn't see it. It shows a /dev/block/mmcblk0 in the Device list. The card in my other phone is in blk1.

I mean, is there a windows program that can partition fat32 AND ext4 or whatever android file system uses?

edit: maybe that program does, will check

You can format it with Fat32, Fat32 will work. Windows provides tools to format media. Just plug your sd card into your computer and go to Computer folder, and right click on the icon for the sd card and select format. Run the format utility with Fat32 selected. Plug the card back into your phone. If your card is already set to Fat32, you don't need to run the AParted app. I know the directions say you need ext4 but Fat32 will work without issue.

I used minitool partition wizard , when I open link2sd though it hangs on the loading screen after picking the file system of my 2nd partition.. formatted 1st partition fat32 2nd partition ext4

crap. new problem, even though I keep moving apps (or linking I should say) to my sd , it doesn't seem to be actually moving anything or freeing up internal storage, because im still getting insufficient storage space errors.
