Okay thanks! I havent been home to try it yet but i will and just to be sure do i need to do it in specific order. I already flashed the kernel so would wiping dalvik cache do same thing or do i have to wipe it then flash the kernel.

Just wipe it.

Is there a security check somewhere in the kernel that checks if certain apps are installed?
Something called LG security check, or LG security check script?

That would not be in the kernel. The stock rom includes a "root checker" that lets vm know if you are rooted, and what youve run as root.

What about checking if certain apps are installed such as LGSettings3_2.apk or LGSystemUI.apk

Is there a way to turn off that security check so we can remove any app?

Just installed and so far so good. Only thing I noticed is, looking at cpu-z, my second core still jumps up to 1.7ghz even though I have my max set at 1.5ghz in setCPU. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

This is because the scheduler performs a hot plug and removes cpu's when idle, so there is no cpufreq control of disabled cpus. When they come back online they get the default governor with no min/max set.

If you look at "CPU Performance Control Free" in Google Play, it has the ability to control the offline cpus, but you must configure them to not hotplug (which probably causes some battery drain).

I think the proper fix is to have the kernel mark 'cpu1' as being 'related to' cpu0, and then the single on-demand governor will control both.

I am working on a new kernel version right now - 1.8 ghz, and 600 mhz GPU - it rocks - faster than Galaxy S3.

I'll see if I can get this corrected too.

Quick questions: will the modded V6 update break 2nd init and/or CWM? Can i still backup and restore after updating?

Nevermind... figured it out. Just downloaded the update to USB stick at school lab, so I'll try this later at home.

Another quick question for robaho, or anyone else on the modded V6 (NOT the stock one):

Do the phone dialer codes work?
