Still wondering if it makes an adhoc or ap connection?
It creates a wifi hotspot - which is an access point.

Thanks robaho, it seems to work well.
I initially tried with WPA2 security but it would only connect with limited connectivity. I then tried no security, and it rebooted the first time, and failed to activate the hotspot thereafter. Using the default settings with WPA works just fine though.
Just figured id share info that u will wana do unbrick method and follow ur guide to installing software update then the wifi app works perfectly no more rebooting issue!
Well isn't that a middle figure to the people that did support you, based on an assumption. You had known issues with the app if people had previously install another app. maybe if you put out a demo with limited functionality you would have had less cancellations.Just an fyi, based upon the number of people that buy the app then cancel, I can only assume they are stealing it. For this reason, I will no longer be supporting this community with this app or the oc kernel. Take care...

Gotta luv it we get decent developer and people abuse it as if that app even cost that much that they steal it.Well thanks for hard work sucks u wont be releasing ur next kernel ur last one was flawless as is ur wifi tether!
Yeah, I'm one of those users who may end up doing a refund. Not because I'm trying to cheat, but simply because I can't connect to the hotspot. Same as Lord Orwell. Hotspot gets created, just can't connect to it. Just FYI, I'd pay $50 if this worked.
Also, this is probably entirely my fault, since I installed PDANet first. But I didn't not realize this would prevent the app from working before I paid for it. Anyway, sorry to hear you won't be supporting this any more.
If you need any help getting this working on non VM phones, please let us know. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be happy to help.
