Root [Virgin Mobile] Virgin Mobile Boot Animation

Does everyone have a VM start screen? Out of the box, mine didn't. Once I activated it, it restarted and showed the VM boot-up, but after that it never came back. It just says "Samsung Galaxy SIII," and then the Samsung logo, and that's it. I'm wondering if there's anything different about my phone.

Mine flashes Samsung, then the Samsung Galaxy SIII, Samsung again, the virgin mobile splash, then the samsung screen again, then finally it is loaded.

Wow thats my new text alert! Not :D
Thats indescribable lol. It must die. Its like an elecric cat walking on a piano while a dog plays with a squeaky toy :)

Well this is your unlucky day...

VM Power on Sound (Jesus...)

Well, I wouldn't recommend listening to that "jingle" too often, or you could end up like this. True story.

I have splash screen audio once again . I have no idea how it all of a sudden started working. Could the phone volume affect splash screen volume during boot? I may have to test this later.

Yes, I believe the system volume under settings affects the volume of the boot animation. At least that is my experience.

isnt there an audio file you can rename to disable the sound kinda like you do to silence the volume keys or is the sound part of the same file as the animation?

yes there is a sound for everything in system\media and system\media\audio and video files are in the video folder. just a matter of finding the offending sound and rename it i simply too the extension off.

I renamed the virgin mobile sound and now I get a more pleasant Samsung sound. I'll keep it for awhile and change to no sound if it starts to bother me.

Yep, I've always noticed that if I have my phone on silent, and then restart it, the boot is silent too. Was like that with the Evo V too. I still wonder why mine doesn't have a VM boot, but I'm not complaining, as long as everything else is ok.
