Root [Virgin Mobile] [Vmobi][ROM][ALPHA] CyanogenMod Jelly Bean 4.1.2 [08.25.2013]

Afaik our vest devs still haven't got the 3.4 kernel to compile, I took another source from a HTC device with similar hardware and attempted a port and get farther in compilation then taking the cyanogen d2 kernel (which is what is needed for official support).

couple stupid questions - Chairshot and Jerry, are there any real difference in each of your CM10 builds? (I'm assuming it all comes from the same source control and only difference may be slightly different toolchain or something like that?) - and, saw some comments in one of the prop files on github saying 10.0 efforts are being abandoned in favor of CM10.1?

Those are old commits if they are still there in the github. Right now CM10 is the focus with some minor work on the kernel for 3.4 by me. Also xInterlopeRx is working on the 3.4 kernel as well and is hoping to he have it solved soon. If and when this happens we can move to 10.2. So just hang tight and enjoy the ride :D

When I was done playing I restored my backup, still had no 4g. Tried to update prl, failed. Updated profile then prl, then all was well. Just thought I would post case anyone else has that problem.

I had to restore my backup today in order to take pictures of the sprinkler system flooding my parking lot at work. Had 4G right away, and we are just getting it periodically in Vegas. Any issues with 4G after restoring your backup are most likely network related and nothing to do with your phone.

@Chairshot215: great work. Thank you for all the hard work on this. I thank guys like you for making great Roms and software we all can and want to use.

I resrored maybe 10 times before wiping data to get cm to install has 4g right away every time also

I can't believe how many things I usually need apps for are NATIVE on this ROM.

I just installed. Looking amazing! I can confirm there is no 4g but it's nice that I can switch to cdma only mode without rebooting. Just using 3g for now and will install my apps from backups.

If anyone needs me to be guinea pig to test 4g fixes let me know, my 4g here is constant and strong.

Since it's a full rom, I wipe everything except external storage. Just like to be sure I start from clean slate

I did a factory reset and had no problems.

Just make sure you download and have gapps ready to be flashed as well.

I was able to do the factory reset, flash CM, then flash gapps, then flash vae victus-cm-ramdisk... all in one go. Booted fine and everything is working.

As a general rule if you are installing a new rom or an alpha rom that has significant changes it's a good idea to do full wipes to be sure no conflicting files remain.

If installing a new version of your existing rom or an upgrade rom you can generally do just a cache and dalvik cache wipe.

Just installed and messed around for a bit. Runs great on my phone so far. Was a little worried since I hadn't updated any kernels or versions of Victorious since the beginning of July. I made a backup to switch back to since it has 4G and camera functioning.

Stoked to see the progress on this!

Yeah I also fixed WiFi today. Chairshot is going to release later I'm sure. He is also working on the DRM libs and also GPS since that is also borked. Slowly coming together

I finally got the opportunity to flash this. When I first booted I noticed that 3g wouldn't work even after airplane mode toggle. (Not complaining, just reporting) Also, where should I flash GAPPS? can I just get it anywhere? Once Wifi works I will probably use this every day! Thank you for your hard work on making the victory great!

I've been wanting to flash this ROM for a while, but I was waiting for wifi to be fixed. I saw that it got fixed in the github repo, so I built it straight from the source and tried it out. I did find a few bugs that caused me to reboot almost everytime I tried to scroll down at a fast rate, so I decided to restore to Victorious. Ill try and get somr logcats in the morning.

3g won't work if you're getting 4g. Go into settings and switch it from LTE/evdo/CDMA to just evdo/CDMA and poof, 3g all day.

Yay, a build I can install! Feels like Christmas! Huge amounts of respect for our devs.

How is it only 160mb? ROMs for my Optimus V were several times that size...

The only thing that makes the ROMs heavy are the blob files. Since most the blobs are built from the source code you do not need to put in so many blobs from stock. I bet that is why the Optimus was larger. Since we are still working on more functions it may grow some more but not to much.
