Root Virtuous ROM vs Rooted Stock

I think it's in reverse. HTC has to go through two processes. First, they port Sense to a version of Android. Secondly, they they port that package to a phone.

Sense has been ported to 2.2. "New" Sense was ported to 2.2.1. So far, HTC has not completed porting any version of Sense to 2.3, and doesn't look to have it done anytime soon (Thunderbolt launches with 2.2.1, no update plans announced for Desire HD or desire Z to 2.3).

I see the Incredible getting an official update to 2.2.1 and New Sense (given that HTC already unofficially confirmed this), but a 2.3 update would have to occur after the Incredible's end of life, making it highly unlikely. But again, that's speculation on my part.

You can flash the Desire Z port for the Incredible and use the HTC Sense website. XDA has a lot of good ROMs :)

I agree with everything you said up until the highly unlikely update part. I think EOLs have less to do with software updates. It seems like phones are frequently updated after their EOL. I had an Eris and it was updated to 2.1 over a month after its EOL.

It seems like as long as the new version of android comes out before the EOL (like a few months maybe a little less), the device will eventually receive the update if it can "handle" it.

Gator asked why use Virtuous? Best reasons are xlnt battery life, elimination of BLOAT, and his addition of Virtuous Buddy, which allows users to remove programs
they never use and don't want loading. I think that it's the best thing for my rooted
Incredible because it's so fast and customizable.

Titanium Backup can remove unwanted programs also, is there any reason (other than personal preference) to you Virtuous Buddy to do that?

Thanks for the recommendations... HeyItsLou #4 is amazing!!! battery life is MUCH IMPROVED!!

I would love to add the Powerwidgets to my notification bar, but it seems like you have to use all of his custom icons etc.

Anyway to get the powerwidgets by themselves?
Also, how customizable are they??

Thanks!!

The 1st link gives you the powerwidgets with the stock notification icons.

is anyone using Lou's 6 on virtuous 3.2? its supposed to be a new and patched #4 or something??

I'm using #8 and was really impressed with my battery life over the weekend while camping.
8 and 9 both dont support multi touch so i decided to go with 7 but my phone has sporadically restarted itself like 4 times since last night so i think i'm gonna switch to something else
