For the last couple of days I receive fake text messages 3 times a day from 4 people I know. Three that I am currently in touch with and one that I haven't heard from in 2 years. Anyway ...the text message is blank but there's a picture attached (which I have not accessed). Is my cell infected? Can I cure this by a factory reset? Thanks!

I've received those before, and did not open them. Seemed odd that they would be coming in at the same time so I contacted those people and they had never sent me anything.
I'm not saying that Facebook or any other social media is to blame on your end, but I stopped getting Zodiac updates, weird picture messages, texts with weird links in them from people I didn't know, horoscope links, and 3rd party phone charges as soon as I removed my cell phone number from Facebook (my cell number was not public in my FB settings). I hate that place, and wouldn't even have an account if my kids weren't on there.
