Help Visual Voice Mail is using temp number to check voicemail

OK so I can check my voicemails using my number duh, however I do not get voicemail notifications. When I pull up the VM app it shows no messages even though I had 15. When I try to personalize voicmail to change grettings etc through the voicemail app, it dials the temperary number Sprint provided, prior to a number port.

How do I get voicemail app to dial a differnt number without deleting all unheard voice mails. Its obvious im not getting notifications because it is not accessing my voicemail. I need some love here
 
When I dial my own number, it recognizes the number I'm dialing from and the screen displays "Voicemail".

What does your do?

Mine does the same.

The problem is with the voice mail app. The app is attached to the temporary number that was sent with my phone prior to having another number ported. Because of that I do not get voice mail notifications. And I do not know how to change the number within the app. I lost...I haven't found much on ported number problems with voice mail etc.

I stated earlier that it dials the temparey number provided by sprint prior to my number being ported.

i agree about calling sprint,

but also check this if you haven't already

menu.call.voicemail service.my carrier. it should bring up

voicemail number
123456789.....

is the right number there?

if not press on it and you can edit the number
 
Thanks for the tips guys I called sprint on my device and told them I couldn't call them from anything else because they wanted to reprogram the phone...I just rooted and didn't know if that would work so they said there was a manual method which is as follows and it worked.

on key pad dial ##421443#

edit mode - mobile direct number (made sure my number showed up)

Sprint provided me with my MS ID ### ### ####(number which was
described to me as the number recognized by the towers) had to make sure the numbers matched, if they didnt I had to change them to match (mine matched)

Menu - commit mod

device reset

Then system update...

once i did all that i manually powered off and restarted and bam 20 voice mail notifications waiting,

I asked where I could get the manual they advised from and said it was not available.
