Root Vlingo voice problem

Lord Vader

My father's rooted EVO suddenly has encountered a problem in the Vlingo app he's using. Yesterday evening he used it to navigate to a certain location. As he has done before, he spoke into the phone to instruct it to navigate to point B, and it returned spoken turn-by-turn directions.

Today, suddenly all the voice operations from Vlingo's end of things have ceased. He can speak commands to it and Vlingo will understand what he's saying, but unlike yesterday, Vlingo does not respond with any voice. Even navigation is text only now. He has gone through all the setting in the app as well as his phone. He didn't change anything on the phone, so he baffled as to why Vlingo's voice feature has ceased to work.

Any ideas?

try going into settings>voice input&output>Text to speech settings and tap the listen to example if you hear talking then the problem is with vlingo

Just about all you can do is wipe the apps cache,or uninstall it and reinstall it. If that doesn't work its probably on their end

Dalvik cache and cache wipe probably couldn't hurt either

The Dalvik Cache and cache we did wipe, but that didn't fix the problem, unfortunately. I'll remind him to wipe the app's cache itself.

May need to add the apps data with that. If a data file has become corrupt then that could be the whole issue. If that does not work the only thing I can think of is to uninstall the app. Reboot into recovery wipe cache and dalvic then after reboot try to reinstall. (Yes Rxperts suggestion but modified :D)
