Interesting thing here. Not sure if I don't have right Google program or not. But given that I returned my Captivate while waiting on a good ROM that has a working GPS, a friend of mine gave me a HTC Fuse with an Android 2.2 rom on it. A bit slow, but able to play.
I just tried a Call XXX XXXX at work, and it finds it accurately, but, it does not dial it. It brings up the name with the 3 phone numbers I have for him (work, home, mobile) and I have to then read which one and select it with my finger.
If that's how it works, it still is far from being what MSVC offers.
I want truely hands free capability. Without it, i pretty much feel I cannot use the phone while driving.
[UPDATE]
I am playing with it with a Blue Tooth headset. I could not get it to pair with my Jabra Stone. But I did get it to pair with my Motorola 305, albeit not great, it seems.
But, I can press the button on the blue tooth, and it brings up the voice search, and it does the dial. What it does not do, at this point, is display the number it is dialing, or say it back to me. But some of that may have to do with flakiness with a custom ROM on a phone not made for Android.
Looking more promising.
