Help Voicemail notification is stuck and there's no way to clear it??

The voicemail icon is stuck, the one saying, "voicemail pending" in my notification bar, and the "clear" button up top isn't there. IT'S BEEN 6 DAYSSSS. I've called my voicemail and did the visual voicemail, and it won't go away. Can I some how secretly clear it??

what software version are you on? there was the gingerbread 2.3.3 ota (software version 4.22.651.1) then there was a maintenance ota (software version 4.24.651.2). the maintenance ota was supposed to have some fixes for gingerbread and one of them i believe is the voicemail notification.

I have the same problem, started yesterday, I have a G2 running 2.2, stock. I checked voicemail (had one new, listened and deleted) ,when it stayed up in my status bar, I power down and did a battery pull. Damn thing is still there. Any suggestions?

I had this problem with multiple phones. I am using Google Voice for my messages but some were sneaking through to my Verizon voice mail account. Deleting the messages through Google did not change anything. I deactivated my account through Google Voice and found 20 unread voice mails dating back over a year. After deleting these, the icon went away. I then reactivated my Google Voice.
