Help Volume sucks !

I dont complaint much about anything but the volume on this phone is just unacceptable. Every aspect of volume is just not any good. Does anyone have a fix on this without root ?

Volume of what? speaker? call? The physical rocker? I will say this, the Tbolt is the only phone I have had to turn down the volume on, ringtones, media and even the call volume is louder than any previous phone I have had. (LG ENV, BB Pearl, BB Storm, Droid Inc.)

Bigdaddy, if you re-read my post it says all aspects of the volume on this phone ,ringer , in call ,BT, Media speaker is the worst. I can barely hear any of them , you say you have to turn them down , I say crazy,I could only wish I had your volume becasue mine sux

The speaker behind the kickstand on my phone could use a little boost. It's not anything close to my DINC. I have a hard time hearing the phone ringing or notifications incoming.

I have this same issue. Each song I listen to and every conversation I have the volume needs to be turned all the way up.

I'm not seeing this...The volume from behind the kickstand while playing a youtube video is loud enough for me to hear crystal clear on the main floor of my business, which is a pretty noisy place!

My external speakers are lower than I'd like, but I've kind of gotten used to it. I also use Audacity to boost my ringtones/notifications.

In the sound settings you can click a box that says something like keep the notification volume the same as ringtone volume. I was having a hard time hearing my notifications till I did that.

There is also a setting called Pocket Mode or something like that, that will boost the volume of all of the ringers and notifications.

I have to turn my earpiece volume all the way down, and the ringing volume can sometimes be so loud as to be slightly embarrassing.

Well...the kickstand does muffle the sound somewhat, check it out yourself.

My Incredible is louder. That being said, I don't find the thunderbolt's volume to be that bad. I've had much worse.

What ohm are the head phones you are using? Most phones are not very volume friendly due to low power output. You may need to go to 16ohm head phones. A lot of the fancy head phones are 32ohm or similar (will be too low of output on the TB).

I dont mind the speaker at all. I always play radio while i clean my kitchen and even with it half way up i can hear it through out the entire house. There is a little difference if the kickstand is out. The sound is just a little clearer but its not that noticeable. Really love when i get a notification and i hear that thunder noise come through nice and loud.

The only volume issue I have is when playing YouTube video's. Music on my phone plays plenty loud its just with YouTube idk.

I had a WinMo phone -- dang, I forgot to list that one, too! -- that was total crap. I don't even remember what it was called. But you couldn't hear a ringtone if the thing was taped to your forehead. I kept it about two days.

And now I have the image of a pink droid running around with a WinMo phone taped to her head!

:P

I don't know if its the same problem op is having, but my in-call/earphone speaker is REALLY loud on the lowest setting, and the speaker phone speaker is REALLY quiet on the highest setting. They are just about the same volume as each other when on these opposite settings...

This is very frustrating as everyone can hear my conversation in a quiet setting using the ear piece speaker, yet I can barely hear someone if I am using speaker-phone in the car or other loud place.

I feel like one of those old people that talks on the phone with speaker-phone on and the phone against their ear in public thinking that they are the only one who can hear the person on the other line.

Be sure that the VOICE PRIVACY setting is not checked.

Menu - Settings - Call - Voice Privacy.

My volume was terrible until I de-selected that option. After that it's fine.
