Help Volume sucks !

ok maybe not 4 non-rooted but how bout 4 rooted? i'm having the same issue. it is certainly loud enough to hear, plenty loud enough but i want 2 damage my ears if i please.(i dont have haering loss-i checked) I dont think one's personal opinion vs. anothers makes the point as all things are relative so i'm using the iPhone4 (which i returned 4 TB) as the benchmark, n comparitively the iPhone (in this respect) wins hands down,as i did have optoin to do serious damage.
...that being said it does appear that the headphones make considerable diff. tho my current ones were much louder in iPhone (which made me think it couldn't be the HPs-n mostly still is not) My brothers (cheaper) HPs are supremely louder but are not as clear 'n comprimises are largely unacceptable to me so i'll wait 4 someone to help me w/ a hack i can do my self (why pay if i can do it myself-tho obviously currently i cant) ...im very open 2 suggestions

I tested the insipre 4g and that sucked. thunderbolt is one of the loudest phone I have had to date. No jokes, it gets even louder if you lift up the kick stand as that blocks some of the sound.

Although this won't help us now (I also don't like the TB's volume level) When Gingerbread comes out for the TB check this out AndroidAudioHacks.com ;)

When I listen to the radio I have to turn it down to half volume. Maybe your hearing is shot from listen to stuff to loud:p

I would go to verizon and see if its the phone and not you. Try out their demo phone.

I had the same problem with my thunderbolt nothing seemed clear and it either was too loud or not loud enough and while on speaker phone it was horrible...my gf incredible tho is the same way I think its just htc because when she's on a phone call I could hear her conversation on the phone on the lowest setting

I have this issue also, but it only seems to be when i use a bluetooth with it, i try adjusting the volume up on my bluetooth but it doesnt do anything. i used the same bluetooth on my incredible and i could adjust it fine.

Its way to low and makes it really hard to hear when in call.

Maybe HTC cut the volume on the Bolt because of many people blowing the speaker on the Dinc. I have read people that had blown 4 DInc and got replacement phones. So to cut down on blown speakers they lowered the max volume.

I don't know if its the same problem op is having, but my in-call/earphone speaker is REALLY loud on the lowest setting, and the speaker phone speaker is REALLY quiet on the highest setting. They are just about the same volume as each other when on these opposite settings...

This is very frustrating as everyone can hear my conversation in a quiet setting using the ear piece speaker, yet I can barely hear someone if I am using speaker-phone in the car or other loud place.

I feel like one of those old people that talks on the phone with speaker-phone on and the phone against their ear in public thinking that they are the only one who can hear the person on the other line.

You've described my problem PERFECTLY!!!!!

The only volume issue I have is when playing YouTube video's. Music on my phone plays plenty loud its just with YouTube idk.

Volume of what? speaker? call? The physical rocker? I will say this, the Tbolt is the only phone I have had to turn down the volume on, ringtones, media and even the call volume is louder than any previous phone I have had. (LG ENV, BB Pearl, BB Storm, Droid Inc.)

I agree with both Flyguy and BigDaddy. The only time volume was a problem was in the YouTube app. I assumed it was the app because the rest of the volume is great. My phone is in a hard bodyglove case and it's still loud.

i was disappointed with the volume of the loud speaker as well. then i got a replacement and found that it was as loud as my og droid. so i don't know what's up but maybe it varies
