Voodoo Color & Voodoo Lagfix

I've read mixed reports, mostly good on the Colorfix included in this kernel.

Is that a different colorfix? its not voodoo?

Hey, you know what I noticed today while inspecting my phone, the date on the upper right hand corner, the pm/am is being burnt into the phones screen.

I think someone else mentioned it either here or on xda forums, not sure, but sure enough, I noticed it on mine today. 2 months only and the pm/am is burning into the screen, not good.

Another thing that worries me, is the battery charge notification. Mine stays lit all night once the battery is charged, that will eventually burn into the screen too.

Use the Screen Test app from market place, and go through the various colors to check for burn in. I was shocked to see that! I think samsung should make the time hop around, that way it doesn't stay stationary in one spot, burning into the screen.

you probably won't notice it if your phone is less than a month old.

That's the Voodoo color fix. It's not yet available as a separate download for anyone.

Oh great...screen burn-in. That's all we need. And yes, I too wake up to find that damned battery charge notification on. I hate that.

Okay...I'll get Screen Test and try it later. Right now I'm uploading a Titanium Backup to Dropbox...gonna take a while!

Remember, when looking at the voodoo color fix pictures, all of those pictures are simulated (they took a single screen shot and put them in photoshop to simulate the experience). As far as my phone goes, when I put it on google.com and then put my computer to google.com and hold my phone up to the computer monitor my phone does appear to have a bit of a blueish tint, but then when I look at the computer screen it appears to have almost a yellowish tint compared to my phone. In any case the tint is not noticeable at all when the two are not up close to each other. Make sure there is actually a tint worth complaining about and its not just you psyching yourself out.

If i hold my SGS up to the photoshopped simulated examples , my phone is at least as blue as the blue photoshopped ones, very similar to the other examples posted in this thread. So, there's definately a batch of blue screen Galaxy's around. The voodoo color guy says its software related. Note that there is a Nexus color calibration tool around which is reported to be working on the Galaxy when running Froyo. The tool allows tweaking the colors without modding the kernel. Not sure how something that so obviously blue gets past Samsung, kinda sucks sorry to hear that you guys got shitty Vibrants. Anyways I kinda figured it might be software related.

After many days of struggling to figure out how to reboot my phone into the recovery mode (none of the button combination methods work on my phone), I have finally succeeded in rooting my phone using the easy software reboot method from XDA developers forum. Then, I also applied the VooDoo lag and color fixes using their latest Beta 4 version.

My phone is now blazingly fast!!! There is absolutely no lag, even after running several programs that take up much memory space. Screen transitions are instant; websites load as fast as my laptop; colors look great; with the tweaking of headphone output settings in the service mode, the headphone sound is now wonderful through my Shure earphones. This phone has transformed into a great performer! Now I definitely know that I have made a better choice than getting the iPhone 4 or any other android phones. This phone rocks! :D:D:D

Who needs the Froyo update when it performs so well! :)

I think this has to do with it being an amoled display, not an issue with the vibrant specifically,my nexus's top bar is burned into the screen too. if I go to an all white screen,I see a faint orange version of my top bar, battery icon,time,... all there. I'm going to trade my nexus for a vibrant tomorrow, hopefully I don't get one with problems.
