Help Walkman or Play Music ?

I've just got the Xperia Z1 and feel a conflict of interest between walkman and play music.
I added some music and some has gone into walkman and some into play music.I have no idea how to choose where a song goes.
Would i be better off uninstalling one of these and if so,which one ?.

You shouldn't have to; both the Walkman app and Play Music should locate and add any media files on your device to their respective libraries.

The only difference is that Play Music allows you to stream content uploaded to "the Google cloud", whilst Walkman will include any files hosted by a media server e.g. Twonky, WMP, Iomega StorCentre etc located on your local network.

Well that hasnt happened and the 2nd paragraph is just gobbledeegook to me.All i wanna do is add my music to my phone and be able to listen to it.I dont want radio or video etc but as i said,some music has gone to play music and some have gone to walkman.
If i uninstall one or the other i'm assuming all my music will go into the one thats left,?

I would guess no: if they're not seeing each others music then they're probably only looking in specific directories / folders.

Either connect the phone to a PC and use Windows Explorer or use a file manager from the Play Store (I use a free one called File Manager) to search for a file that only works with Play Music. Note the directory / folder name. Then do the same thing with a file that only works with Walkman.

Once you know the directories, simply move all the files to the directory for the player you prefer.

cant i just uninstall 1 or the other.I like to simplify my life and dont see the need for 2 things if 1 will do all i need it to.
