Wallpaper question

So I was wondering if there was a way to have a set background on the home screens. The factory set one where the picture kind of scrolls with the different home pages drives me nuts. Is there a way I can have just a wallpaper that doesn't move with the home screens?

ADW launcher will allow you to turn off the "wallpaper scrolling". So the wallpaper will stay stationary while you scroll between home screens.

You can get ADW in the market. You may also want to download Homeswitcher as well, some of the home replacement apps need that to switch btwn touchwiz/market launcher.

Thank you DrPennington & mrsbelpit. Your help was very nice.

Yaz75; I agree with DrPennington. Your post added nothing to this thread and was a waste of my time checking it when I got the email that someone replied.

Actually, if you re-read your OP it could be interpreted that you were looking for a way of preventing the wallpaper scrolling in the stock home app. In which case Yaz75's answer was quite correct.

Regardless, posting disparaging comments is not acceptable behaviour here on AF. I note that all involved in this thread are relatively new members so I'll put this down to unfamiliarity with the forum rules. I trust that this will be remedied in future. ;)

No problem. Not only can it do that, it does tons of things. I think you will enjoy it. Very customizable!

And sorry I didn't know I can't "joke" about the people in the state I'm from. Internet people so damn sensitive.

Interpret that how ever you want. Ultimately the answer to his question is "Yes"- there is a way.

Well, I still stick by my opinion. His posting added nothing to the thread. I reread my OP, and I don't think it could be interpreted as looking for a way in the factory app to stop it. I used that to describe what it was I was hoping to fix. I'd been through all the menus on the phone anyway, so I knew there wouldn't be a non-rooted way of doing that. An after market app would be the only choice at that point.

If I got into a lot of these posts here and just gave one word answers, they don't help. Will T-Mobile give me an unlock code for my phone and what do I say to them to get it? "Yes." Yes, what? It doesn't answer the question. It's a poor reply only served to get a users post count up, and waste the time of others on the forum. Nothing more, nothing less. However, I see that giving an opinion on another user isn't allowed here, so I will keep it to myself from now on.

Back to the topic at hand, I tried installing the app last night and I couldn't find it on my phone. There wasn't an icon on my home screen or under the app pages either. The market showed it as installed, but the "open" button under it was grayed out, I couldn't even open through that. Any idea what I did wrong? Do you have to restart the phone after installing it?

First of all, I don't think Yaz75 meant any harm: he did answer the question to the best of his knowledge. With the stock home application, you could use a wallpaper of a plain color so you wouldn't see it scrolling, but the possibilities are limited and not everybody likes plain wallpapers.

To answer your question, if you installed a new home application, you have to press the home button and then you will have a choice between your launchers.

No, I don 't Yaz meant any harm either. I just think they need to learn when they are adding something to a thread, try and make it where it adds to something that has been said. If we went through all day just saying one word replies to people, no one would want to talk to them because they would make you do all the talking. Some thing here, if it truly doesn't add much to the topic at hand, don't post it. I don 't mean any harm either, just my two dollars worth.

Thank you for answering my question DaSchmarotzer! :)

Wow. Amazing responses in this thread! I've been a mod at another forum for around 9 years so I do in fact know how to answer a thread question.

Sorry for the pissing match that ensued.

I'm going to head back to Google to find the answers I require.

Have a great day everybody!
