might be surprised as how many Name brand clothing stores and discount clothing stores gets their product from the same manufacturer. My mother worked in a tie factory once. Sewing labels on ties. Same ties on the line she sewed Gucci, Kmart, Sears and so on. You think theres a difference because you see that name and think oh its a higher quality?Neither. I usually troll the department stores and stores like wet seal and rue 21, searching for good sales. Burlington coat factory is another place to find nice clothes at good prices. Hollister is fine for my teenage sister, who manipulates people into buying everything for her (my mom taught her well) but I don't have the money to waste.
Wal-mart, on the other hand, just no. I grew up with hand-me-downs and cheap wal-mart clothes. I was 18 when I bought my first nikes, now I wear nothing else (no other shoes!) . Wal-mart clothes are uncomfortable, shoddy quality and ill-fitting. Not to mention, just not cute. They might try but they ultimately fail.

Sometimes in the end your just paying more for the exact same piece of clothing.
Im a big fan of jcrew and banana republic. I can almost always get what I need from their sale tab on the website. Just about all my dress pants came from there, and I dont think Ive ever spent more than $35 on them, including shipping.
funny, having been in retail for 30 yrs, all you have to do is look at the labels where the garment is made, AF like everyone gets their stuff from the same factories in china, indonesia, taiwan, etc just like walmart, target, Kohls, Gap, etc... what you are paying for is insane marketing expense that is added to the garmet with print, media and instore advertising, plus of course they know a certain demographic will pay for the AF label and even more so for the AF logo that others can see...same goes for polo or any other designer label...it's a feel good purchase, psychologically! You get what you pay for at Walmart.
If I had to choose between A&F/Hollister clearance and Walmart... it would hands down be the former. The clearance part doesn't bother me as I'm not really into the whole "what's in and what's out" kind of thing. If it looks and feels good to you... then it's just fine. My dad actually had a few shirts from Walmart and they felt like cardboard to me since the fiber count was lower and the quality of the materials were lower. I remember seeing some in Walmart for like $2 each and they literally looked like they were stiff.
If you were to buy some plaid shirts would you buy them from Abercrombie & Fitch/Hollister clearance or Walmart, and why?
WHEN DID THE BUCKLE GET SO EXPENSIVE?
