Root Want a Swype theme to match #2?

Here's a Swype version that matches the #2 ROM fairly well.

Delete your old version from system/apps and paste this one in its place. Reboot.

If you keep getting force closes, copy the apk from system/apps and paste it in data/apps. Reboot.

So I've found that you MUST paste the apk to data/apps because pasting it to system/apps makes the apk force close everytime the phone reboots. IDK why but it does. Putting it in data/apps though works perfect.

This is a REALLY clean version of swype. If you are a swype user I would suggest at least trying it out and looking at it on your phone. :D
 
Does this still work? I noticed DA Dark Knight put up a thing on his site that says they are not working anymore...I ask because Im having no luck getting this to work. I am putting it in data/app and then I have the swybe b in system/app and then there is a system lib file for swype too. Am I doing something wrong maybe?

Delete everything Swype that you have installed in system and data apps folders. Put this Swype in data/apps and reboot.

Make sure you delete the com.swype apks too.

I'm typing on it right now, works perfect. ;)

I must be doing something wrong...I just dont know what. Maybe a swype file Im not deleting somewhere idk. Still just FCs for me. I deleted all out of system/app and I deleted the one in system/lib <--maybe I should leave this one? Anyways I deleted those and I put the themed one in data/app rebooted and got FCs rebooted to CWM wiped cache and dalvik still FCs


I just thought of something...what permissions should this be set to?

Yeah I only delete files in the apps folders.

ALSO I sometimes have to go when I boot up and it forces closes, go into the data apps folder and INSTALL the swype file.

Once I do this it usually works fine.
