Root Want to root EVO, but baseband version is not listed

Please forgive me if this has been covered, but I've looked and couldn't find it.

I want to root my evo, but Revolutionary says it is for:
HTC EVO 4G (supersonic) 2.15.0001, 2.16.0001

My phone displays a baseband version 2.15.00.05.02
Am I S.O.L., or is there something amazingly easy that I am missing?

I only want to root so I can tether my rooted Nook Color.
Thanks in advance.

the baseband is your radio. to find hboot. power off then press and hold power+vol down. this will take you to the hboot screen. it will say what your hboot is.

thanks, sorry for the delay, but doing this at work.

2.16.001 so in theory I'm good to go.
I'm still confused about just rooting and keeping Sense (for now) when I get to s-off what will I need to do? First attempt at rooting and really don't want to make a paperweight.

I finally took the time to root my Evo last night. It went very fast and I had no problems what so ever. Total time about 20 minutes.
Ocnbrze thank-you, both for the replies here and on all the other people's threads where I've received help from your answers.
