Root Want to try my first ROM

I'm not new to flashing ROMs, but I am new to flashing ROMs on the Incredible so I have a few questions.

1.) On some of the ROM directions, they talk about needing a different version of HBOOT. How do I tell which version I have?

2.) When they talk about doing a full wipe, i'm assuming this is the same as I had to do with my LG Ally. Wipe the data\cache, the cache and the dalvik cache. Is that correct.

3.) The ROM I want to try first is the Incredibly Re-Engineered ROM. Anyone know if that one needs the HBOOT update or do I just need to do the full wipe of data and caches and then install the .zip file?

power off phone, then hold volume down while pressing power to enter hboot. Version will be listed there.

not sure on that particular rom but fwiw, i've kept the original 0.77 hboot and never had a single problem on roms that suggest 0.92. Same with radio, some suggest newer radio, i'm still using 7.28 with no probs.

ROM Manager is pretty simple to use and does all the steps for you. I have had success with it.
