Root Wanting to root my triumph.

Ha ha. I just responded to your post in the ICS thread.

If you are going to do this without a computer, I highly recommend you download TerminalEmulator from the play store.
I can help you from there.

OK. Downloaded it.

Ok, download the CM9 version you want and copy and paste the MD5 checksum next to it.

Now open the TE and change to the directory you have the ROM in.

cd /sdcard/downloads

I am making some assumptions.
When you are in there

md5sum MTDEV-CM9.0-20120913.zip

It will spit out a string that should be the same as the one listed on the website.

if im reading right it saids to root only or do you also want a ROM ?arent this instructions to install a ROM???? if you only need to root just use gingerbreak

Well do you have a need to be Rooted under Stock? Our ROMs come pre rooted

most roms if not all come pre rooted but idk for me i rather root on stock just in case

It's alpha at any rate. One of the reasons I am making this kinda vauge and simple is I like to use the forums as a teaching tool. Not just for the one I am responding to, but anyone who stumbles uppon the post/s.

OK, so where are you. Did the checksums match? Do you have a custome recovery?
With your ROM, did you grab the gapps?

You have all of the tools to load the ROM. As far as Rooting the stock ROM, you can use gingerbreak and it will to what needs to be done for you.
I recommen you do a couple of nandroid backups instead of just one. Clear your cache first and it will be smaller.
