Root Warning do not change boot animation.

i rooted my lg esteem, and changed the boot animation(i found a app on the market that had boot animations for certain phones) but i changed my vmb to low and was stuck in the loop,i played dumb and went to metro to exchange it,the guy told me its been rooted, and best thing to do was flush it,but noway i would,so i kept playing with it and after i found the zvc update it worked like out of the box,bad thing is you cant root it,im a noob on here but just wanted to share my story, thanks to all on here for their time and knowledge, keep up good work

I am always changing my boot animation and I have been stuck in a boot loop multiple times, all I did was to recovery and restore to previous place that i backed up before

How did you get into recovery? I'm rooted with CM and esteemed rom. Changed the boot animation and now its stuck in a loop. Volume up/down and volume isn't taking me into any recovery - just powers the phone back off best I can tell.

Nevermind. I got into recovery but I could only do it on ac power. weird but at least now I can restore a backup.

Yea use three button combo(vol+ /-, power button) then when we lg reset screen comes up push power button three time don't worry it won't delete it as long as you have cw or rzr installed it will take you there

Sorry to asking this without searching but since is the same field. How you guys remove the boot sound??

I'm using root explorer, but I would copy and paste the original boot sound to sd card just in case but the file is under system/sounds/power/ the file is MetroPCS_PowerOn.mp3 you can delete it or replace it to a mp3 file and rename it to MetroPCS_PowerOn.mp3 to change the sound

Ok thanks...

i'll wait on any new phone purchase till there are multiple, tested, working recoveries out for it. better yet, research 3rd party development for the thing before i even consider buying it.

i can only think of one reason they dont want to make us adminitrators of our own devices: android is SO open, they can't identify all the implicit revenue available to those who know how to use it. so they'd rather lock down the phone, install CIQ or somesuch nonsense, watch US use our phones, invent revenue streams through social or commercial service apps, and sell US the very product we could have developed on our own had we known what our these things were capable of. the center of any CLASS WAR in this country is being fought on ur mobile device. if u dont know ur a player, then ur on the wrong side.... jailbreaking/rooting your phone is a nice act of civil disobedience. invalidate my warranty? go ahead and try... @$$#%!&....

MY first Esteem was at zvc when I bought it a few months ago. It got soft-bricked after changing the boot animation. All it did was boot loop and boot loop some more. I bought a new one. So I wanted to see if it could be unbricked. Talked with Gbiggie about downgrading from zvc-zvb. Maybe that would fix it. Anyways the zvd update came out and I fugured.. Why not? So I updated that bricked phone through the computer to zvd. And YES! SUCCESS! It fixed it. No longer on forever boot loops. My suggestion is to try this method. It worked for me.. Just use the LG tools updater from there site and make sure you have the appropriate drivers installed in your computer. Now you will lose root if you had it on there in the first but re-rooting is really easy as well on zvd. To which I re-rooted and removed bloatware.. Hope this helps somebody else out there with the same problem..

uh, i dont know how people are bricking and boot looping, ive changed my boot animations through romtoolbox and through rootexplorer myself, no boot loop or brick.... several times, now its on a bios load screen animation. and as far as font, i use font installer from the market, and works every time, just wont change the keyboard font like on my ascend....
