I JUDGE YOU! JK, but I did know about that... removed when i first got it and replaced it with a zagg invisishield which are amazing! No bubbles whatsoever! There are other people who use it without the second protector or any protector... It does have gorilla glass but still... It can be scratched and even little scratches any me! But yea I found this out by looking for reviews of the triumph and such on youtube and found a video like that... I'm sure there are plenty of others who didn't know about though.

Also you can just use your fingernail and LOTS of patience...

It sucks I found out after bestbuy put a zagg screen on top of it and they told me there wasn't so I went back to store and made them put new on but not till the dickhead manger was fighting with me saying that's how it comes and he made me take them both off if I wanted it done rite I should of got the installation 7$back for that fixing it myself

Why would you want to removve the protector? Also, Im not convinced its a "protector" as we understand it but more of the final process when installing the Gorilla glass - in other words - leave it alone.

I went about 3 month with both the factory and one I paid $20 for at best buy not realizing it came with one attached. After removing both protectors and replacing just the $20 protector I could hardly tell the difference. Rely wasn't worth the effort in removing it from what I could tell. Would be another story if I had removed it out the box and had not already put the time and effort into buying and applying the first one let alone doing it again. Not saying removing the factory protector is a bad thing, just saying if you have already put one on unless you are boared, have $20 burning a hole in your pocket or like me have an uncontrolable urge to mess with things it can probably wait until you need to change the protector because of a scratch or something.

The Triumph does ship with a screen "protector" pre-installed but it is a very very cheap one. When you take it off, it feels like dried acrylic or something. Very poor quality and seemed to trap oil from your hands and required constant cleaning. I found it to hinder the responsiveness of the touchscreen as well as the clarity of the colors.
So, this is a significant reason to remove it and replace it with a better quality one if you wish. The 3M screen protector has a stretchy feel to it and your fingers seem to just glide over it as if you were touching the glass itself.
There are other good quality brands of screen protectors.. and really anything would be better than the one that comes already on the Triumph.

Removing the screen protector was the very first thing I did after receiving my phone in the mail. I personally am happy with taking it off and NOT replacing it because there seems to be another protector over the Gorilla Glass.. so technically there are two protectors.

There is also numerous YouTube videos showing two Triumphs side by side with the stock screen protector and a 3M brand screen protector and even some with the stock screen protector vs. nothing at all. The colors are definitely dulled. In fact, the dullness of the colors was a common issue seen posted in HowardForums and other sites leading to the discovery of this "secret screen protector" LOL :D

Some have removed two layers of screen protectors on the phone revealing the bare Gorilla Glass. I only took off one and left it at that.

EDIT (added link): Anyone notice two layers of screen protection out of the box? - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com

Actually there only taking about 1... the one that we all are talking about. The other one is just to keep the screen clean and EVERY electronic that I know of is shipped with one...

"Of course the most obvious layer of screen protection is the hard clear plastic cover that comes on the phone, this has a tab on it to make it easy to identify and to pull off"

I took off the stock screen protectors a few days after I purchased the phone and am happy with the bare gorilla glass so far, I have never used any screen protector on any phone I've had with no issues and before having plastic screens with no scratches I'm sure I wont start having problems now. I do use skonimi screen protector for my tablet, but that's because its such a huge surface.

With this phone I would say there is a glare and its like a dark mirror when the phone is off but once the screen is on you cant see any glare unless the screen is dark.
It does attract oil on the bare glass though, my only problem.

Well im sorta happy i removed it because first of all i dont have problems with the soft keys anymore i had a zagg screen protector over the stock one made my soft keys horrible but now i love it haha
