I don't like how the stock weather widget only gives you the current weather and the weather for the rest of the week. I would like to be able to see what the weather is going to be throughout the current day. Do you guys prefer the WeatherChannel app or WeatherBug?

(I realize that there is an app thread but I wanted to include a poll)

I'm not a big fan of weatherbug elite even though it is free from amazon. It's just a little too much of an attention whore on the phone. All weather notifications come through like a text notification and it's always trying to connect to their server. I'd rather have a weather app that requires less maintenance. Reminds me of a needy girlfriend I used to have that would call me just to tell me she was there.

:) .. Just like a needy GF you have some control over how much she needs. Just turn off notifications. I'm only interested when I want to know.... not every 12 seconds.

I agree with this.
Plus it also locked up/force close several times till I just said forget it and uninstalled.
Been using the weather channel for several weeks and like it:)

Another vote for WeatherBug. Very nice widget and more than enough weather data even for a weather nerd. Does anyone know if WB has moon phase information or if the widget icons actually represent the moon? I think the answer to both is no.

I used to use WB, but it drove me nuts after a while with its glitches... I assume all the positive feedback means they fixed it? This was... like... September.

Weather Bug right now. I used to love the Weather Channel app, but since the last set of "updates" it crashed and burned for me repeatedly so I gave up on it and haven't looked back.

I'd like an app that quickly gives me a zoomable animated radar map that fits my screen. I'm in construction, and find that I have to look at an animated map to see whether my regional weather predictions are going to impact my location -- often I can predict rain arrival and duration within minutes. So for now I go to weather.com in a browser, but that's not ideal because it doesn't zoom smoothly (resets to the top left corner of the page with each zoom), and various other glitches. Does anyone know of a better way to get this?

Weatherbug. Just configure it so it won't annoy you unless you ask it to do something. The ability to customize your location down to the reporting station is nice. I've also found it to be as accurate as forecasts can get.

I have found that while Weatherbug has the best combination of features I want, i am not thrilled with its presentation. The look of it is like trying to listen to the weather from a meteorologist in a clown hat without laughing. I just can't seem to take it seriously. But that might be a personal quirk. lol.

My main issue is the weather alerts. I don't mind the frequency, but what I mind is that to view the details, you are redirected to the web page. I would like to have the detailed report right from the app itself like a few other weather apps out there. Also, I want to be able to distinguish my weather alert notification from my sms alert.
