Weatherbug (UPDATE) - Now available for install on Xoom

sure thing. go to the devs main page from the market link. there is a contact us section. there are a couple of emails and phones numbers to call if you prefer that way. :) i could reach out to the marketing person of the company and ask if there is a proper way to submit bug reports. ill tell you what she says.. :)

im all for making this app as strong as it can be. im not coo coo for coco puffs but im diggin' this lieelt app. :)

I second that. I'm liking it a lot as well. Thanks for the info. Ill go check that out and make a report out. I could have sworn there was nothing there that I could use to report a problem.

she stated she will respond back to me with info on how to submit feedback.

Wow! At 10:08 this morning I sent an email from that same Market area you told me about, and got a response back from Alex within 30 mins. Just read and responded to the email and gave him the information I had acquired in the short time I used the app.

I seem to be actually having 3G issues on Verizon since I installed this app. Maybe it is something else, but when I reboot the Xoom and I am on 3G, it does not seem to catch and it takes a long time for the 3G service to activate.

I do not know if this is from Weatherbug or not, but it started right after I loaded the application. The above poster said that it polls WiFi/3G constantly and I am wondering if this is related?

I would love it if someone could post the apk for me. I want to install it on my nook color running honeycomb off the sd card and can't seem to find it anywhere.

Thanks!!

I have a question, does the Barometer give accurate readings for where you are? I have a Xoom coming and I want to use it at the Drag Strip for altitude readings and temps. Will this take care of that? It would save me from having to buy a special guage just for this purpose.

Hey can anyone tell me hot to get to the Widget for the Honeycomb Weatherbug? The only widgets I see are the ones for Weatherbug Elite, which installed with the rest of the apps that I use on my N1.

Is it possible to change the location of the temperatures displayed on the widget? I can't seem to find the setting.

install what? the weatherbug app? its readily avail in the market now.

i have noe had any 3G issues with this app and i have 3G on all day.. well i mean to say i have all the radios on and wherever i roam either/or will pick up and i have not had any issues on 3G.

i have also not noticed any substantial battery drain issues. the battery has been solid for me.

i dont use the widget, just the temp at the bottom notification area.

There is an option to download updates in the background continuously. This may be what is draining some people's batteries. Turn it off if you want to save battery. :)

That shouldn't cause a problem if in fact the setting placed I the app works. For example the default setting to go out and check for updates in Temperature changes..etc., is 1 hour. My particular problem is it continually poles/checks what is providing the connection, WiFi or 3G about every 30 seconds. It is very hard to catch but you can look at the information area (bottom right) and see it pop up as a dot with a circle around it and if you catch it in time, you can press it and what comes up is "Location determined by GPS", and it keeps popping up (on my Xoom anyway), every 15-30 seconds. After uninstalling, the symptom goes away.

That sounds more like you have enabled the "current location" feature and it's checking GPS or Cell Towers. Try turning that off.

Good suggestion. Ill download it again later and see if that does the trick. If that is the problem, ill report it via email to the developer and hopefully they'll take care of it soon. Otherwise it kind of defeats the purpose of that function.

the more feedback they get the better it will be. thanks all for posting. i want to see this app be successful.

we are all on the ground floor here and isn't is cool to know your helping make a better app? :D

Yep. I uninstalled it last night after the initial read of it's battery draining, but reinstalled it this morning and will keep an eye on it today and see what happens.

Thanks!

OK, I've been able to determine that making that change, unchecking "Enable My Location" makes a huge difference. It no longer poles constantly draining my battery. I've just shot another email off to support updating them.

Just read that the Weatherbug app was updated for honeycomb.
Im still waiting patiently for my Xoom.
Anyone try it out yet?

The updated version still has issues with the widget for me--it gets stuck and won't switch to other locations. Otherwise, I never had any issues with the app, for example it never seemed to use inordinate amounts of battery life.
