Welcome Huawei Ascend users!

I've had my Huawei Ascend for a month or so now and JUST NOW realized that I can talk into it to do a google search ... OMG that's so frickin' awesome :D
 
If you have a problem with it, on the Huawei Ascend, just download Skyfire Browser 3.0 it enables the use of flash video viewing, works like a ****ing dream. Only drawback is that every now and then sites that have a mobile interface load as such. there is also a android/desktop switch so you can go in between the two for viewing certain sites like Facebook.
 
Ok, can someone explain browsers to me. I keep seeing people mentioning dolphin browser and skyfire. I don't even know what a browser is, LOL. Is it the same as internet explorer vs firefox?

Just go to android market and type in Skyfire, download it, and instead o using say, MetroWEB you use skyfire. The difference between IE and Firefox I suppose.
 
Hey smart people....I haven't been able to send texts since I got my phone...Maybe one...I've called with no luck....Any ideas? They said take it in to a Cricket store....? :)

Try going to the Market and installing GO SMS (free messaging app) and see if that helps you. It is probably something in your messaging settings that's preventing them from going out. yeah...their answer for everything is to take it back to the store. LOL

I use Handcent messaging app from the market and I really love it but a lot of the guys here like GO SMS better. :)
 
Handcent rocks!! I love that app! Just havent had a chance to install it on my Huawei yet as i just got it yesturday, but your reminder has me doing it right now!!

Thanks, i'm glad to be here. I dont know what it is about this phones community, it just seems alot more close knit than the other phones "boards' i've been apart of on androidforums

LOL!!! It is! We have a great group of users here who are more than willing to share and to help. I think one of the reasons we are all so close is that with Cricket and MetroPCS not being able to offer much support we really do need each other. And in the process we have all been able to make our phones more fun and perform better too.

We're all squeezing every little last drop out of our Ascends! hahaha

I have no complaints! I think the Ascend is the best out of the Zio, Behold II and HTC Hero all of which i owned. This phone rocks socks!! I'm sooo excited to be apart of this community and to have this phone.

Plus with cricket the phones are always at least $20 cheaper online, cricket charges $15 to activate, you can do it yourself for free.

I agree. I checked out the huawei web site when I first got this phone and the ideos looks pretty nice. (but still a budget type phone) i.e. perfect for cricket. For the money, if I get 6 months out of this phone I'll be happy. It's pretty much disposable. Don't see how anyone can lock themselves in for 2 years anymore as fast as these phones are advancing.

I would recommend that you take a look at some of the current threads we have going on to see which ones you think should be linked in the guide and also some new ones that would be helpful to make our forum better and easier to navigate in.

PM SoFlo or UBRocked and ask them to put it in the guide. They will be happy to help.

I didn't intend for my threads to be the only ones there. LOL
