Welcome Huawei Ascend users!

The shell by my house was doing a commercial the other day and they were passing out free $5 Gas Gift Cards, and Coupons for Free Works Car Wash, so I am going to go to Walmart, and buy a new bottle of Tire Shine, go get the free gas, and free works car wash, and then put the tire shine on :) Car will be looking mint for later :)
I wish I could wash my car. Ohio has been frozen forever it seems...

You forgot it will enable remote wipe. P.S., the Ascend might not get flashplayer, kind of like the mytouch 3g didn't receive flashplayer with its 2.2 update
That would be lame. The flash player is the only thing I really care about. apps to sd is cool too though I guess

Pretty sure that one of of the threads here someone was able to install flash and told people how he did it. I just can't remember which thread it was, lol

The camera is one of the worst things about the Ascend to me. No flash and no autofocus. It's really lame compared to other cameras I've had on phones.

I am enjoying learning on this Droid but I'll be very happy when I can get the IDEOS X6.
My 3 year old nokia with 2mp took way better pics than this thing. Btw, why no interest in the lg?

You and joser are the dynamic duo- he provides the info and you organize it for the unwashed masses! Great teamwork ! (i am washed btw)

That was before I bought a new computer. The reason for why I didn't create how-to threads like Jazz using my info that I gave her, is because I had to use my Ascend to do that, and it is a pain to write more than a few words with the onscreen keyboard. Now that I have my computer, I have started to create more complicated, elaborate, and thorough how-to threads like the How To Install IcarusMOD thread. But my magnum opus of all threads is coming soon. I hope nobody steals this idea, but I am currently working on a huge megathread that indexes all of the questions, problems, and solutions into one organized thread, like an encyclopedia (forumapedia). It is going to be the ultimate guide of all guides. But you can't rush perfection, so I am predicting that this megathread will be up in about a month at the least, as I will be scouring the Ascend forum and indexing everything, including all the questions asked, all the how-to's, all the solutions, tips, and troubleshooting information and I will be categorizing everything. It is no small task. I had previously attempted to put such a thread together, but I thought about it and saw that it would not take a day. So I gave up on the idea of such a thread, but I have decided to give it another try.

hello i had a question about handcent sms.I heard the app makes something on the phone change colors. What are they talking about.

Well, they are talking about the appearance of the messaging window adn conversation list. Handcent is a highly customizable messaging app, but I recommend using GoSMS as it is higher quality, smoother, and less laggy, yet offers the same level of customization as Handcent with the recent update

Wow! Good luck with that! Great job on the icarus how-to. How are you liking it?

can anyone explain the advanced settings on set cpu? What do they do? I had a cpu widget that let you reduce speeds with screen off and speed up with screen on. I uninstalled it because I didn't think I should have both at the same time. Can set cpu do that? Or does on demand accomplish the same thing?

Why would someone want to delete youtube :P, and actually easy wifi is ok to delete too. It will not break your wifi

You pop youtube, because you can get Skyfire Browser 3.0 and not deal with the rather limited videos the youtube mobile app offers. Plus the browser allows you watch most flash outside of youtube. You can still share the videos to facebook, you can't scroll back...but you can watch soooo many more videos. I think if you record video with your phone, and constantly upload them to youtube is the only real use for the app.

It's not really limited

It is limited...there are quite a few videos that simply won't run on the Youtube Mobile app. But yeah, I popped it and haven't been having any problems...granted I also backed it up just in case, but it's gone and my phone works fine.

Hey MB,

You aren't alone in your Youtube experience. I think that much of how YouTube works is highly dependent on the location and carrier of the user. Also, some times are better than others. I have found that sometimes my youtubes will load really fast and at others they hardly load at all. But in general I can watch nearly anything I want.

The area of Scottsdale where I live has great coverage and good signal. This past weekend I stayed in way far north Scottsdale and my signal was showing Carefree. My phone really had to struggle there so...again it depends on so many thing it is really kind of an individual experience that factor into whether or not you are successful in loading the videos.

:)
