Two more observations:
If I'm in a thread and hit 'home' the page doesn't refresh, I have to hit the refresh wheel thingy. It actually seems to be hit and miss, sometimes it does and sometimes not. I thought maybe it was a timing thing but that doesn't appear to be the case.

There's no thread preview when hovering over the topic/thread anymore. I liked that and miss it.

The homepage is the best place to see new posts. The filters allow you to adjust:
  • Trending (popular in last 24 hours)
  • Most Recent (shows new posts)
  • New Topics (shows new threads)
  • All (from all forums on the site)
  • Favorites (from only forums you've favorited)
If you want to jump directly into specific forums to see what's new, you should favorite them first so they're always 1 click from the homepage.

Found it. What threw me was the favorites section. Still, it would be good to have a way to get directly to recent posts from anywhere.

I'll adjust. Liking it better this morning...

The homepage doesn't have a thread preview when hovering, but if you go into a subforum hovering does work.

Would be nice on the home page also. :)
Well, since I live on the homepage/unread (now that you found it!!)... :p
It does work on the unread link you provided, just not on the homepage/recent.

Alright all! :D

LOTS of feedback is coming in, here and in the mod area. I want to keep it all contained. I have posted what all I have taken from this thread, which is a lot heh, and posted in the mod areas. I am asking if staff can help keep the feedback contained and organized for me, while everyone lets this soak in.

We need to jump to the app to get a few things done to help the flow between the two work a little better, so the overall experience that we are trying to provide becomes easier to understand. Our vision for what we want to provide depends on the app and site being aligned properly so we will be jumping back and forth between the two.

Stay tuned, as things become more clear :)

Keep the feedback coming, thanks for understanding on things we might have clearly missed, or features that need to come back, and hopefully thanks for the future understanding for any features we feel aren't going to make the cut for one reason or another. ;)

I don't see anything in Guides Central, did you put put it in the Mods only forum? Us lowly Guides don't have access there, or was that the plan. ;)

Thanks for all the work improving the site. :thumbsupdroid:

Using a mobile browser (not really had a chance with a desktop one yet) I think the "featured forums" are a bit misnamed now: sidebar, "browse more" and scroll down several screens. If I didn't know about them it might have taken me a while to discover them.

(Edit: more readily findable on a desktop, since you don't have to scroll through a list of manufacturers before they are visible).

I do however like the look and feel. Sure, couple of kinks, as to be expected, but I'm holding off a little until I've had more time to familiarise. But it is a nice job, and yeah, the material design thing works well - it does feel more like an app than a website a lot of the time :)

It's going to take some getting used to, but over all - good stuff. What happened to the "mark forums read" option?

Awesome, great job imo, love all the little animations between pages etc and the overall material look of the site.

Signatures?
I've made the executive decision to get completely rid of signatures. I feel like they're an archaic forum relic that add clutter and serve very little purpose. We may update the user profile cards to include a signature, but they will not be returning to threads.

Ok.. its entirely your call... One man, one vote (and you're the man)

but they do and did serve a purpose, of allowing a space for users to show some personality and creativity. In a different way to the visual Avatar, and custom titles that staff members have here. (I'm tellin' mommy on you!)

But thanks for the confirmation that they've gone
