How do I create a new thread? I was in the LG volt forum, pressed create a new thread, typed it up and pressed create thread. Then I noticed that it creates the thread under Android devices and not under LG volt, so I thought I must've been on the home page and not in the volt section, so I edited the post to say deleted and tried again, this time making sure I was in the volt section, and the same thing happened. How do I get it moved to the right section and how am I supposed to be doing this in the future?

Ah! Sorry about that! They found and fixed it, thanks for letting us know. Try now!

Edit: moved your thread for ya!

Ooh, we're looking snazzy up in here! Great work, guys - I look forward to maybe having some time to poke around a bit more soon. I'm definitely excited about the way this is going!

I've been devoted to this site for years. Then this happened. I haven't contributed a cent to this forum, so I have no right to complain. Good night.

Some initial feedback ...

1. Important ... how do I mark all. posts as read?

The up right heading in ...
http://androidforums.com/find-new/15445768/posts
... has the option to mar all forums as read.

2. Important ...how do I mark all posts in a forum as read?

3. I am listed as ...
Thom
Guides
Guide
... how do I change the Guides line?

4. My location is listed as ...
Keene.NH.US
... how do I change this?

5. Will there be a dark theme or a darker theme?

If you're able to change it, it would be "Custom Title" in there

How can we get to new or recent posts, in a timely manner?

The homepage is the best place to see new posts. The filters allow you to adjust:
  • Trending (popular in last 24 hours)
  • Most Recent (shows new posts)
  • New Topics (shows new threads)
  • All (from all forums on the site)
  • Favorites (from only forums you've favorited)
If you want to jump directly into specific forums to see what's new, you should favorite them first so they're always 1 click from the homepage.

I'd like to see a date and time when looking at new posts from the Home section. Other than that, not bad. Damn good actually.

One other thing. Bring the old round emojis back please or add a bunch more bon-bon looking ones,

6. I could not find this link anywhere. Where did you find it?

As in the past I am not allowed to change Guides to Guide. It still seems weird to me but not critical.

Unlike the past I can not delete the Current Status line to just make it not present. Each of these changes is tracked FOREVER. It would seem that simply removing the old ones as an option would be helpful.

7. The Tasker area is rather hidden. I recommend that the Tasker area be listed in the Apps & Games header or the Android Development header as a sub-forum.

Favorite forums is not working for me. I add new ones but the changes don't commit. May be related to my being a former staffer. Several if not all of the staff only forums were populated there already for me and using the clear favorites option did not work on those.

The site looks great. Hats off to all involved.

Did you try revisiting the "area"? I found that when I set an area as a favorite it did not seem to register. When I later visited it it was set.

In short it doesn't seem to do a screen refresh after doing the update.

The link took me to where I can change my personal preferences,And I was able to change my custom title long ago.

Well I can't visit them because I have no access anymore. I had this same issue with the old theme. The staff forums persisted as favorites. Interestingly though, when I go to menu > favorites it says I have none selected. But when I click on the fave forums button, there they all are.

Quick Question.... how many posts are listed here? .. It might just be that at the moment, it hasn't had enough time to catch up , but there doesn't seem to be any way to get onto the 'next' page of results.... and all of the filters seem to show about the same quantity of posts...

EDIT/UPDATE

It appears the "most recent" / "all" filter combo only lets me see up to 3 hours ago.... So It like those page controls aren't visible.

Also, can we have a timestamp for 'last updated ' as well as 'thread created' ?

Not loving that when opening the "new android forums" thread from the global link that it opens page 1 every time. Is last page viewed an option instead?

Also, how does one find a device not in the manufacturer list. I'm not finding an option to browse for all devices. Looking for LG G2 forum and can't find it.

Also, for curiosity sake, would someone look at my full profile and see if it shows my "current activity"... example...iowabowtech is currently viewing thread xyz.

8. Instead of Trophy points under the avatar list the number of posts and the number of likes. At lease list the number of posts. (Who has 5 or fewer posts?)

9. I find being able to list the likes I received to be very informative. I can find no way to do that in the new configuration.

I stumbled into it at ...
http://androidforums.com/account/likes
... great.

Right. The other option would be when you click on LG, if your device isn't one of the 5 devices listed, then have a link for "all other LG devices" or similar. Either way would be better than forcing people into a menu button and suboptions.

+1 that was going to be my next post. Show both post count and likes. Trophy points are clearly not indicative of anything useful as I noticed within this thread alone that @codesplice and @Slug have oddly low totals there when I know beyond the shadow of a doubt they've helped hundreds/thousands of users here for many years running.

In fact, a show of hands for doing away with the trophy system altogether? Its redundant to likes which are more indicative of usefulness.
